  • Ready for the "iRing"? After meeting with hardware suppliers in China and Taiwan, Brian White believes Apple (AAPL) will launch a TV this year with a ring accessory allowing a user to control the set by pointing their finger. White also sees the iTV coming with a 9.7" mini iTV screen to be used for things such as home security, phone calls, and video conferencing. [View news story]
That's any easy answer. How often do you lose your ring?

The ring idea sounds logical to me if it gives you pretty comprehensive control of the set. Not sure why everyone's doubting this.

  • David Einhorn's Greenlight Capital is due in court today, when it will ask a judge to block a vote of Apple's (AAPL) investors over three different proposals unless they are considered separately. Einhorn is particularly interested in Apple's desire to give shareholders the power to approve the issuing of preferred shares, which he opposes. The vote is scheduled for next week. [View news story]
So you think all shareholders vote in kind?

  • KGI Securities' Ming-Chi Kuo, who yesterday reported the next-gen iPhone and iPad Mini are dealing with component yield issues, today writes the Mini's issues are due to Apple's (AAPL) use of a new touchscreen technology called GF2, which will allow the Mini to be thinner than the regular iPad (at least until the latter gets a refresh), and lighter than rival tablets. Kuo believes Mini shipments will begin in 1H October, and that the device will go on sale in late October. (earlier) (AllThingsD report[View news story]

If that is true, then WHY did the price of oil skyrocket during his administration? Giving credit to JC for accomplishing anything of benefit to the US would be a stretch.

So you're saying that if we can only decrease our dependence on oil by 60%, its a bad idea? Even 10% would be a HUGE step in the right direction.

Wrong..the root of the problem is our government's inability to adopt an energy plan that further develops resources we already have. Nuclear and natgas would solve many of our current problems. At least, it would be an excellent bridge to the next best thing. Lets use our own oil NOW...and watch the withering of the fundamentalist movement in the mideast...

Your implication of "Bubba" is daft and insulting. I am a conservative who rarely watches Fox or listens to Rush (although I "generally" agree with their philosophies). I drive a fairly fuel efficient car and would LOVE to see us move towards NG to fuel our engines. Maybe you shouldn't assume that just because someone doesn't agree with you politically, that they can't possibly have realistic opinions that make sense. People who make statements like your generally will defend those who have a perception of discrimination while at the same time, belittling whites who are southern or fall under the "redneck" classification. People like you don't really wish to add quality to the discussion, only to criticize what they don't understand or believe in.
