It's a Good Thing uWink Isn't a Restaurant Company [View article]
I had wished UWKI could do what was possible. I read about them in a post I believe you made here at SeekingAlpha.
However, the CEO/Chairman has a spotty record, seems to cash out when he can, and they have had plenty of time to try out their concept -- YEARS and nothing has come of it. Delays, delays, delays.
It looks like a great idea, but one that isn't needed, I guess.
I contemplated an investment for about a month, but decided, that there's no there there. Basically, it's a software package that they could sell, much like Island. Otherwise, the CEO is trying to run a restaurant with NO experience.
If they had partnered with D&B (Dave & Buster's) or some other such place (D&B is the adult restaurant with video games, etc... kind of like a Chuck E Cheese for adults), the I could see the possibility.
All they are trying to do is replace the quarter machine at the end of the bar and the waiter/waitress. It looks cool... but why? Couple that with a management team that never really seems to "exceed expectations" and I couldn't invest.
Glad I didn't.. it would have been around the $1.50 mark.
The CEO will cash out (as usual) and the rights to the software will be sold off. Game over.
