  • Now Boarding: Algorithm Predicts Lockheed Martin Shares Will Take Off [View article]
Your software may claim to know first, but I know better. LMT's profit margins are too thin to expect a big gain at the current price. However, I like the dividends so I might keep this on my radar.

101, don't put any weight behind those ratings. They're not meant to be indicators of what to actually do. For a great read on the subject, check out "Full of Bull" by Stephen T. McClellan.

Yeah no worries about that debt. You're seeing growing everything else alongside it so the interest expense is not a problem. That's smart leverage.

  • 3 Closed-End Funds With Positive Asset Returns Yielding At Least 6% [View article]
You are making a big mistake recommending any of these funds at current prices. PHK in particular is trading at a massive premium to it's asset values. Who cares what the DMA is, we have the lowest interest rates in all of recorded American history. The slightest hint of rising rates will send these funds down double digits. This is the time to be reducing exposure to bond funds, not loading up.

You're making a BIG mistake recommending BSP and and PHK at these price levels. These are leveraged fixed income funds, and we have the lowest interest rates in all of american history. Ignore the 200 DMA, it's meaningless in the face of potential rising interest rates. I have seen PHK drop by double digit percentages when there were potential rate increases coming. I hold PHK for income, I have for ages, but this is the time when you should be thinking of cutting back some of that position, not going long. Around the new year I expect to see big pullbacks in bond funds like these.

  • Why Averaging Down Is A Bad Investment Strategy [View article]
This article is dead wrong. To start with, you shouldn't be buying at all unless you know that the company is worth more than it's selling for. If you don't undertstand accounting statements or what drives the business to improve, then you simply have no business being in the stock. Buy a market index and stop losing money.

If you're somebody who is interested in acquiring the company over time so that you can create a rising income stream, then there's nothing better than cost averaging down, and waiting for the inevitable recovery. There has never been the case of a consistently profitable company that didn't have it's stock price rewarded in the future for sticking with them.

Bottom line is that yes, if you average crap companies, there's no reason to expect gains. If you accumulate profitable ticks and you take the opinion that you are a partial owner of a successful business, you will get returns many times greater than what a short term trader is after.

  • 5 Buy-Worthy High Yield Dividend Stocks Trading For A Discount [View article]
SB Doesn't have accounting concerns, or monetary stability issues. They process all of their transactions in US Dollars. BMA however, has had it's dividend suspended for some time now, and when it comes back will probably not be as large because of new capital requirements. That said, BMA is an excellent business for what it is, and a bargain at it's current price.

  • The Options Retirement Plan. Turn $1,000 Into $1,000,000 In 11 Years.  [View instapost]
Naturally you would always know when the market is at its highest point for the year, and there would be a correction every year, not causing you to have a worthless option expire.

  • Why Is Gladstone Commercial So Cheap? [View article]
I've been in GOOD and it's parent company GLAD since 2008 and I love them. Just a quiet, well run little business that escapes the atention of Wall Street.

Alexandre, don't worry about the ratio, your financial site is trying to pull it from earnings per share. If you use Funds from operations instead, you should get the right numbers.

  • This 11% Yielder Continues To Show Consistent Growth And Progress [View article]
I'm not seeing the consistency you're describing here. Revenues are up, but net income was only 1/5th of the year before. As a shareholder I would be very concerned about fluctuations that wide.

  • 12 Stocks With Significant Yields And Upside Potential [View article]
A small issue has come up with BMA. Argentina's central bank has put a lock on bank dividends, raising their capital requirements. So there won't be a dividend paid this quarter, and who can say how long before the next one. In spite of this, I'm still a buyer because the bank is mad cheap.
