I think that a good way to see changes in the market is to buy or develop your own program to track the major ETFs. It would show price performance of each ETF on daily, weekly and monthly basis and then score it so that you could see how each ETF is doing in relation to the other. This could be done on a spreadsheet so that you could see the results on one screen.
