  • Brookfield: A Wealth Creation Machine  [View article]
Thanks for your analysis and insight into the workings of BAM !! You have definitely invested time into this article.

This stock can be considered in my opinion to be overlooked by the market in general. Management just does it's thing quietly not really looking for exposure while slowly creating wealth.
It seems that downturns create opportunities for BAM and market froth create spinoffs - a win win for shareholders.
They utilize the private equity theme in my investments whereby BAM's reach into the market can yield opportunities that I as a small investor do not have access to.

Anthony , Thanks again for shining some light on this investment creator.

  • Rubicon Minerals: Resource Risk  [View article]
Thanks for taking the time to give an analysis of RBY .

I feel that you have overlooked the location of Rubicon.
Yes if want to find gold go where the gold is - see the Red Lake Mine surrounded by the 100 square miles that is controlled by Rubicon.
Yes, the Red Lake mine = Goldcorp (GG) .
The Phoenix project is only one project within the 100 square miles that Rubicon controls in the Red Lake area. Your analysis takes into account only this one project - the Phoenix. Seeing is believing please take the time to visit the Rubicon web site and see for yourself that this gold stock is ripe for potential not limited by the Phoenix project. There are numerous other potential Phoenix projects on this property that are not priced into this stock. In other words your analysis states that an investor gets the remainder of the other say 95% of the Red Lake property for FREE .
This is the fate of junior gold miners in this market they are trading for pennies on the dollar.

Note- If anyone reads about the native issue on the Rubicon site you will find that the small 1st Nations peoples are approximately 100 miles away from this project !! RBY has treated all native groups above and beyond fair in my opinion ( read for yourself).
They are employed by Rubicon as well
( Yes I am a small shareholder of RBY )

Thanks for listening - my info comes directly from the website for Rubicon.
My opinion is that Goldcorp or another major will make a move on this stock. Read all you can on this site for Rubicon - please do your own DD.

  • BlackBerry 10: Too Little, Too Late To Save Investors  [View article]
Lets get up to date - one of the founders sells all his stake in Blackberry today 02/14/13 ( approximately the 5% he had left ) and the stock initially drops then picks up up one dollar/share to end the day positively.

** I appreciate all the time you have taken to give a history of the stock - I love the Waterloo reference- from start up to present day. Thanks!! **

What really is happening is that the battle of Waterloo is still in progress. Will it be Apple , Samsung , the Google system , Microsoft via Nokia and hold it here comes BB with a new technology riding into the fray of battle. How will they hold up ...are they the Phoenix rising or are they on a suicide mission!

We have no really evidence of the penetration the BB force is making on the battlefield as of this point. We have evidence of a break up value to the army we call Blackberry but what toll will the battle leave on BB's value.
** At this point everyone is right and everyone is wrong depending on what day or time it is regarding BB. **
The battle is raging and all we can do is speculate. Similar to the Manassas Battle ( 1st Civil War battle ) outside of Washington DC whereby citizens watched from afar only to speculate who the victor would be , how long it would take and to what effort it would entail. It ended up going on longer than expected with greater energy ever imagined with enormous toll on all sides.
And we all know the rest of the story !!

Margins for all involved will be cut by the toll of this battle . Cost cutting will give consumers the victory in the bloody end.

Really all I wanted to say is that it is all a speculation not an investment .

  • Natural Resources Investor Sprott Resource Corp. Is Now A Big-Time Dividend Play  [View article]
    Max ,
Great analysis of Sprott Resources !
My comment was to point out the management that created Sprott Resources - Eric Sprott.
You can own the company that he created and helps to manage via Sprott Asset Management listed on the Toronto exchange as symbol ( Sii ). Sprott Resources is one asset in the mix of sii .
Yes, Sprott Resources may not be your cup of tea but take a look at all the other assets that are contained under the Sii umbrella .
You may like to be on ship with a captain like Eric Sprott. Remember he was buying gold at $250 ounce when the dotcom bubble was brewing. His credibility cannot be overlooked.
Due your own DD. I do own sii.

OK , there are advantages and disadvantages to investing in Sprott Resources but if you love the management why not take a look at Sprott Asset Management ( Sii - listed on the Toronto exchange ).
All fees flow to sii and you get a 3% dividend with a chance to participate in performance fees instead of paying them .
Eric Sprott of course is a major shareholder of his own firm- a Canadian Warren Buffet .

  • What Should Apple Investors Really Expect Over The Next 3 Years?  [View article]
When can the present foretell the future ?

Has everyone that can afford an Apple product bought one ? All trees do not grow into the sky forever !!
( the market is telling us that saturation will be setting in or has set in )

Well once they have all bought , what will get them to buy a new Apple product at an affordable price ?

Mr.Market is telling me that everyone that wants an Apple product has reached a peak level . The cool factor is wearing off by the Android , Samsung , Microsoft and now the new Blackberry systems.
The market is now projected to be a crowded one in the future by our man MR. MARKET . So I assume from his conjecture that in the future margins and volume of sales will decline like the price of Apple has fallen now in the present.

Will the present predict the future ?
