Hello! Welcome to our corner of the internet. Here at Alerian, we love MLPs and energy infrastructure. As an indexing company, we exclusively follow these asset classes all day, every day. They are our bread and butter, our peanut butter and jelly, our ham and eggs. We’re kind of dorks about it. Here’s what to expect: As an indexing firm, you can expect objectivity. As employees, we are prohibited from owning individual MLPs; any skin we have in the game is related to the asset class itself. You can expect transparency. We think that’s one of the only ways to run an index with integrity. We are also citizens of the modern world and value transparency over secrecy. Primarily, though, we’re interested in giving you the tools to make your own decisions. We trust that you’re smart and willing to put in some work to understand MLPs and energy infrastructure. Whenever possible, we’ll walk you through the process and spell out the facts we used to draw our conclusions, so that you are free to draw different ones. We’re stat nerds, too. So you can expect us to wax poetic about data. We’re no longer embarrassed about all those years in math club. In fact, those years of being decidedly uncool have helped us explain the things we love about statistics in ways everyone can understand. You won’t find stock tips here. We’ll talk about interesting developments and trends in energy, let you know how MLPs are exposed, and acknowledge the risks. In the end, your decisions are yours. You won’t find breaking news here. Instead, we’ll focus more on long-form journalism—the kind of writing that takes time to research and analyze. We’ll talk to industry experts, see what they have to say, and pass that along to you. We’ll attend analyst days, read 100-page government reports, track any relevant bills in Congress, build models, and draw diagrams. Whatever we find fascinating, intriguing, challenging, or just plain amusing, we’ll pass that along, too. Ask us questions. Our contributors have dramatically varied backgrounds and passions: engineering, physics, international studies, and communications undergraduate degrees along with some postgraduate alphabet soup (CFA, CPA, MPA, and MSA). We like to come at it from all angles. At the end of the day, everything we do here will be driven by our vision: to equip investors to make informed decisions about MLPs and energy infrastructure. That’s it. That’s all. That’s everything. Welcome Aboard. Alerian equips investors to make informed decisions about Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs) and energy infrastructure. Its benchmarks, including the flagship Alerian MLP Index (AMZ), are widely used by industry executives, investment professionals, research analysts, and national media to analyze relative performance. Over $16 billion is directly tied to the Alerian Index Series through exchange-traded products, delta one notes, and separately managed accounts. For more information, including index values, yields, constituents, and announcements regarding rebalancings, please visit www.alerian.com.
MLPData is the leading site dedicated to providing investors with greater transparency into the full universe of Master Limited Partnerships and fund products. Our belief is that Master Limited Partnership's offer a very unique investment opportunity in light of the transformation of the North American Energy Landscape coupled with the unique tax considerations associated with distributions.
We are an independent and privately owned firm, launched by an entrepreneurial team with decades of experience in providing financial content and investment management services. Our objective is to expand the knowledge and investor interest in Master Limited Partnerships that are publicly traded, and the associated investment products such as Closed End Funds, Exchange Traded Notes and Funds and Mutual Funds.

MTR Investors Group was founded in mid 2008. Since that time our primary goal is to provide powerful and profitable investment research tools to stock and option investors/traders. We do not provide buy or sell recommendations on any stock, etf, or other investments. We simply provide powerful tools for stock and option investors and traders.
The following are the primary tools we provide (we also provide economic models and advanced charting):
I. Expert Option Search
Our Credit Spread. Iron Condor, Covered Call and Cash Secured Put screener is one of the most powerful tools we provide to the individual investor. Powerful features such probability of assignment, downside protection, and many others. Our screener helps option traders make the best decision possible when writing Covered Calls, Naked Puts, Credit Spreads, and Iron Condors.
Many investors use our option screener to monitor a long term portfolio and select the best covered calls to sell on their portfolios.
Option Writers/Sellers use our option screener to find options with the highest probability of expiring worthless.
II. Stock Miner
Stock Miner is use to analyze stocks from a monthly and weekly historical performance. We use Stock Miner for weekly and monthly trade setups.
III. Stock Market Scout (SMS) & Stock Market Level (SML)
We use SMS as a model to indicate allocating cash to an index ETF (such as SPY) by going long on Green, cash on Yellow, short on Red (or stay in cash). We use SML to indicate if the market is overbought or oversold. This is not a recommendation to buy or sell SPY.
Nothing I write should be considered investment advice. Only you can decide if any specific financial asset, security, allocation, opinion, idea, etc. is best for your financial portfolio.

David J. Merkel, CFA — From 2003-2007, I was a leading commentator at the excellent investment website RealMoney.com (http://www.RealMoney.com). Back in 2003, after several years of correspondence, James Cramer invited me to write for the site, and now I write for RealMoney on equity and bond portfolio management, macroeconomics, derivatives, quantitative strategies, insurance issues, corporate governance, etc. My specialty is looking at the interlinkages in the markets in order to understand individual markets better.
I no longer contribute to RealMoney because my work duties have gotten larger, and I began this blog to develop a distinct voice with a wider distribution.
In 2008, I became the Chief Economist and Director of Research of Finacorp Securities (http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories.pl?ACCT=109&STORY=/www/story/02-08-2008/0004752449&EDATE=). Finacorp went into liquidation in June 2010, after which I decided to open my own asset management shop, Aleph Investments, LLC. I manage stock and bond portfolios for clients.
Until 2007, I was a senior investment analyst at Hovde Capital, responsible for analysis and valuation of investment opportunities for the FIP funds, particularly of companies in the insurance industry. I also managed the internal profit sharing and charitable endowment monies of the firm.
Prior to joining Hovde in 2003, I managed corporate bonds for Dwight Asset Management. In 1998, I joined the Mount Washington Investment Group as the Mortgage Bond and Asset Liability manager after working with Provident Mutual, AIG and Pacific Standard Life.
My background as a life actuary has given me a different perspective on investing. How do you earn money without taking undue risk? How do you convey ideas about investing while showing a proper level of uncertainty on the likelihood of success? How do the various markets fit together, telling us us a broader story than any single piece? These are the themes that I will deal with in this blog. I hold bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Johns Hopkins University.
In my spare time, I take care of our eight children with my wonderful wife Ruth. Visit this site: The Aleph Blog (http://alephblog.com/)

As Oscar Wilde once put it, "A cynic is a man who knows the price of everything, and the value of nothing." Well it's a good thing for us that Wall Street is run by a bunch of cynics. With those guys running the market, it's not a very efficient place. I'm just here to capitalize on their mistakes.
At StockSaints, we believe the best edge presents opportunity when discipline and timing are allowed to flourish, developing a systematic approach to capital allocation. Variables outside of any given company may influence entire sectors and industries in ways that warrant great care and consideration. With over 50 years of combined market insight, we are uniquely positioned to share our full understanding of the mechanics of the auction marketplace, the emotion and crowd psychology that drives prices, and the methods that produce repeatable results over time. Each trade has two parties, you and your counter-party, only one is correct in their decision.
A new age platform for the latest in finance and everything else.
Through Bidness Etc, we’re bringing the 99% back in the loop by presenting the best financial research in the simplest and most creative ways possible.
We have distilled a decade and billions of dollars’ worth of trading experience into developing the idea behind Bidness Etc, and we feel we can do a better job of analyzing and reporting financial matters than anyone else.
We are a team of more than 60 financial wizards, musicians, rock stars, artists, singers, aspiring philosophers and tech geeks working hard to change the way human beings think and interact with finance.
We know that quality financial analysis requires a higher level of intelligence, and that what is reported by financial media is too far behind the curve to be of any relevance to the savvy reader. Here’s our solution to that problem: a platform that gives away the best information and analysis out there for free, thereby democratizing individuals’ access to finance. We’re also pushing the envelope by delivering it visually.
We feel that by doing so, Bidness Etc. will become humanity’s first step into a new age for financial media, and that we’ll set the standards for tomorrow with our revolutionary new product.
And that’s not all.
We know that figures, facts, numbers and stats can get quite mind-numbing after a while. Therein lies the kicker: we’re presenting our data in the most visually appealing ways possible. By doing so, we are quite literally transforming financial reporting into a new form of art. We have also incorporated an entertainment section in our website, which tracks the global zeitgeist and provides our take on the hottest topics trending on the web. We feel that this will help us take finance to the mainstream, and complete what the Bidness Etc. experience is all about.
This is a beta version of our web portal. We hope it will keep you coming back for more, because we have a major surprise in store for readers for the month of November. Here’s a spoiler, though: finance will never have looked better once we go all out! And you’ll know we’ve meant Bidness all along when we claim to become the best place on the web.
Ernie Zerenner, co-founder of PowerOptions, has been an active stock trader for over 40 years and an avid options trader for more than 20 years. Each Saturday he would look in the newspaper to find options with the best return Covered Calls. This process would literally take hours. First he had to find the stocks that looked promising. Second, he had to find the best options. Finally, he had to do calculations to determine the best returns. Ernie thought, "There has to be a better way." In 1997, a colleague and Ernie had an idea - Why not use the power of the Internet to gather the data and use computers to do the calculations. We built a web site to do just that. Ernie used the site to find the best options instead of using the newspaper. Ernie was so excited that he showed it to fellow traders and let them use it also. It was so successful that he decided to open the web site up to the public...and PowerOptions was born. Since 1997, PowerOptions has built a winning team to support and continue development of the tools and strategies offered. PowerOptions now includes over 150 pages in its award winning web site and cover 23 of the most popular option strategies. PowerOptions has been reviewed and acclaimed by many in the industry: Forbes, AAII, Active Trader Magazine, New York Post, and Nightly Business Report to name a few. PowerOptions is so innovative, the US Patent and Trade Office issued us patents in 1997 and 2007. By 2000, we took over operation of OptionFind.com, a site that has similar options search engine capabilities. Many of our subscribers told us that they loved the system, but had trouble finding the time to do their own options research. They suggested that we offer an advisory newsletter service. We released such a service under the name PowerOptionsApplied.com in 2005. This service uses our expertise and patented tools to search out, publish, and manage what we feel are great option trades. We offer Covered Calls, Diagonal Spreads and Iron Condors so far, more of your favorite strategies to come. Also in 2005, we released our first publication in the options education arena. Covered Calls: Aggressive Strategy for the Conservative Investor is a self-study course. It includes a DVD, 130 page book, and a workbook to help beginning option traders learn the basics of the most popular option trading strategy: Covered Calls. The course also includes 2 free months of the PowerOptions online subscription service. In 2008, we released our second and third publications to compliment our self-study covered calls kit... Naked Puts: Power Strategies for Consistent Profits is a beginner level text that illustrates the details of using cash secured puts to acquire stock at a discount and generate income. It covers the basics of the strategy from understanding the theory, entering a new trade and covers all the way through trade management. Protective Option Strategies: Married Puts and Collars covers reliable strategies to generate consistent income and provide insurance, especially during times of financial crisis and uncertainty. Topics of discussion include tips on entering protective strategies and the theories behind them, as well as selecting the right stocks and proper protective combinations for investing in today's volatile market. Also in 2008, we purchased the rights to the RadioActive Trading methodology. This investing methodology is just one strategy that options investors can use, but trading "RadioActively" gives investors a great chance of making money and keeping their capital while they do it. The RadioActiveTrading.com site offers plenty of educational materials to get any investor with any experience level into options trading with the ammunition he needs to be successful. After learning the methodology, investors can implement the trading style themselves with the help of the PowerOptions tools, or look over the shoulder of the RadioActive trading staff as they pick and publish trades to the FISSION advisory newsletter subscribers. Most recently, in 2010, we published our fourth educational text. Iron Condor: Neutral Strategy for Uncommon Profit. The concepts, ideas, rules-of-thumb and real-world examples presented in the text have been gleaned from the PowerOptionsApplied newsletter's successful trading of the strategy. Readers can take the lessons learned by the PowerOptionsApplied newsletter and repeat the good and forgo the bad in order to profitably invest using the Iron Condor strategy. This text presents real-world examples, real-world profits and real-world mistakes, the concept of optimally trading Iron Condors by balancing risk, reward, volatility, stop-losses and other parameters to achieve the best results from trading the strategy. Ernie and his staff are active investors; they use the PowerOptions tools and research every day. The company's staff is personally committed to providing you with quality service and an exceptional value. Please feel free to contact us with any suggestions or problems that you may have. Markos N. Kaminis generated a 23% average annual return on "Strong Buy" stock selections over 5 years and ranked 2nd among a group of 60 analysts in-house as a Senior Equity Analyst over a seven-year period at Standard & Poor's. After proving his value in-house, he was promoted into a special role as an idea generator, supporting the portfolios of institutional clients as well as driving performance within S&P's recommended lists and portfolios. At times, Markos was responsible for up to 10% of the firm's entire "Strong Buy" list and is due a great deal of credit for the group's outstanding performance during his tenure.
Markos followed a group of 30-40 Small and Mid-Cap firms, and was charged with finding new buy and sell candidates across industry sectors. He generated a 23% average annual return over five years on his "Strong Buy" recommendations, and 26% over three years ended 2004. He was ranked 1st of 60 analysts in-house for his "Strong Buy" performance over 4 years (2nd over 5). Markos also authored IPO research and wrote for high-level newsletters, The Outlook, Equity Insights and Emerging Opportunities, as well as for BusinessWeek Online. He represented his firm as an analytical expert commentator for major media, including television, Internet and through quotes and interviews in reputable publications.
Besides predicting the stock market correction of 2015 through a series of prescient reports here in August. (see proof here: http://seekingalpha.com/article/3482226-investor-who-predicted-the-stock-market-correction-offers-an-update ), Markos also advised investors to buy stocks at the bottom of the market in mid-February 2016 and again post-Brexit at the trough, and to buy gold in January 2016 before the commodity started its move higher. While not perfect, over the years, Markos has made countless correct market and security calls for his followers, including forecasting the demise of J.C. Penney on the heralded CEO hire's disruptive plans, the bankruptcies of Washington Mutual and Pilgrim's Pride in the $30 and $20s, respectively, as well as the purchase of Facebook in the mid-$20s when it was considered a pariah post its IPO (today it is a market darling). Markos also warned of the real estate market collapse and the financial crisis in the early days of his blogging.
What I personally want you to know about my plans: After witnessing the worst of Wall Street firsthand and having the ideal vision of my childhood career choice corrupted by reality, I almost switched to full-time charity work at age 40 and still have plans for several non-profit endeavors. The future is somewhat unknown, and I am open to employment offers for portfolio management or other ideas. While continuing to publish regularly, I expect to begin work on several book ideas that I believe are important for business, for our nation and for society.
I may put my stock selection skills, earned through blood, sweat and tears, to better use, and to make my own way. I would like to give investors something rare, a dignified partner who can manage money with integrity and a clear conscience about the degree of due diligence behind investment decisions... someone who cares more about your money than your wife. I hope readers will become followers of my column here & at my blog, so that when our numbers are substantial, we might start an investment fund or two.
Prior to his Wall Street career, Mr. Kaminis spent time in the back-office, as a mutual fund accountant, where he managed for a time the work of two men. Before this, from age 11 to age 25, he worked as a carpenter's apprentice and carpenter with his father, in both commercial and residential projects. Mr. Kaminis has an intimate knowledge of the real estate (undergraduate degree in Real Estate and Finance) and construction market, as well as the restaurant industry.
However, as a generalist stock analyst, he showed the ability to learn any and the most complicated of industries in short time - and he gamed every challenge presented to him. Mr. Kaminis earned his MBA at the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh, and his BA at Temple University in Philadelphia. However, Markos has been studying the stock market since age 13, when he determined his career path.
He made his first investment at age 16, and funded much of his undergraduate education with the proceeds of his investing success. Mr. Kaminis continues to keep busy forecasting the economic path and securities market activity. Markos is considering the eventual start-up a long/short capital appreciation hedge fund. Such a fund would limit risk through beta reduction, using a diversification strategy targeting sector & industry and long & short position inclusion. At the same time, Markos' theoretical fund would seek maximum capital appreciation through the exploitation of Mr. Kaminis' inherent economic & market discernment gift and proven stock selection skills.
Mr. Kaminis also has a team of a select few analysts, technicians, strategists and economists that he has been impressed by over the years, which he expects to tap for the project when the time is right. Mr. Kaminis welcomes your interest in such a potential forward effort, and looks forward to discussing his plans with those appropriate and within legal constraints.
Markos toys with very early stage entrepreneurial efforts in the testing of certain business models, all of which he intends to tie to a planned non-profit project serving the most helpless among us. The tie will be that the businesses will give employment opportunity to individuals who would otherwise have difficulty finding gainful employment. It will house and heal the homeless, ex-convicts, those completing rehabilitation efforts for drug and other addictions, and others in need of help.
Markos is currently Directing the widely syndicated blog he founded, "Wall Street Greek," and is writing for other well-known publications besides advancing several big ideas. Markos' column is syndicated across sites like the Boston Globe, Kiplinger Magazine, UPI and other reputable newspaper and TV websites, as well as private networks, Amazon Kindle, iPhone and more. In the past, he has written for RealMoney.com, Motley Fool and others.
Requests to research specific companies are welcome, as we serve our readers. You may contact us via this blog's contact info. Mr. Kaminis welcomes you to follow him here at Seeking Alpha, where he is proud to be a long-time contributor to this strong team of writers. He considers the Seeking Alpha team and management close friends, and for you, people worth knowing and following. Visit his site: Wall Street Greek (http://www.wallstreetgreek.blogspot.com/)

Over the last few years I have worked diligently towards refining several of my favorite and most successful stock options strategies. My hard work and diligence have proven to be a success and now I want to share my ideas and strategies with a limited group of like-minded investors. My options strategies are not “get rich quick” strategies, rather sound options strategies based on three basic ideas - patience, position-sizing, and long-term performance.
After speaking with hundreds of investors, I discovered that the majority of investors were not looking for a ‘get rich quick’ scheme, or a foolproof method of trading options (we all know there isn’t one). What they wanted was a service with established capital preservation goals and historically proven long-term successful investment strategies. They wanted options strategies that would produce consistent, modest gains month after month, year after year. They also wanted to know that unnecessary risks were not being taken, but rather a methodical, tested set of rules were being utilized which would produce long-term gains.
My Options Portfolio was born from the collection of ideas mentioned above. After trading and back-testing almost every known options trading strategy, I fulfilled the requests of the investors and traders I spoke with and have identified several historically proven stock options strategies for long-term success in bull and bear markets. Again, all of my options trading strategies are based on three simple principles: patience, position-sizing, and a focus on long-term performance.
I encourage you to learn more about my stock options strategies by joining my FREE weekly options newsletter. Furthermore, every day in my daily blog I will provide an in-depth look at my trading strategies, including specific trading guidelines as well as the research and back-testing data that went into developing the rules. You will also receive valuable educational tools as well as trading tools regarding the tax-advantages of trading my strategies. Diversify your portfolio, better yet, educate yourself with one of my alternative investment strategies.

I am a retired 20 year Wall Street $ manager. I specialized in fixed income, equity positioning with covered call writing hedging strategies. My experience is finding undervalued or oversold companies, taking a long position and writing a covered call to increase my monthly returns. Over time this strategy has outperformed most with minimizing risk.
