Why would you invest in a company whose growth metric is based on the population of its home country when the population of the home country is declining? The most recent census showed a Russian population decline from 144mil to 140mil, 10% of which is based in 2 cities. I am long BIDU.

GO Principle. Isn't it sad how all of the non-techs can preach the Promise of Intel that is actually History when you look at the track record of some of Intel's competitors. I guess if I was still long INTC I'd have my eyes wide shut too but I dumped all 11,600 shares after their last stock split in Y2k at over double what the price is now.

Nice article L.D. Keep up the unbiased reporting. There are waaay too many INTC bigots writing articles on these web sites.
I use to be an INTC bigot too because I was afraid that AMD couldn't afford the cost of a recall. I also owned 11,200 shares of INTC from 1994 to around 2000/2001. But guess what, I sold all of the INTC before the dot com bubble burst and AMD seems to find their flaws before releasing a product. Yes, they get bashed by the media when they are late to market but only INTC has actually had CPU recalls... 2 of them. Now I'm very long AMD since 2008Q4 and recently replaced my INTC desktop & laptop with AMD APUs and couldn't be more pleased on both counts.

Also, what constitutes a "skyscraper" in your article? During a 2005 guided tour thru northern & southern China, the tour guide stated that there were currently 2,500 buildings in Shanghai that were at least 25 stories tall. Almost all of the current construction projects were condo high rises and steel cranes could be seen everywhere in groups of 8. It appeared that the national bird should have been a steel crane.

I'm not sure INTC will ever be in Big Trouble since they own the x86 architecture but my wife recently bought a $300 Acer with a C50 APU and it is the best notebook I have ever owned. And I go waaay back. My 1st notebook was a 25MHz 386 machine & I've paid as much as $9k for a Pentium notebook (about 15 years ago). After spending $2500 on a Dell Inspiron 5150 (piece of junk) a few years ago I was ready to give up on notebooks. Thanks AMD (and Acer).
