  • More on Apple's (AAPL) increasing use of overseas labor in making iPhones: It's a core conviction at AAPL that it isn’t just that workers are cheaper abroad. It believes "the vast scale of overseas factories as well as the flexibility, diligence and industrial skills of foreign workers have so outpaced their American counterparts that 'Made in the USA' is no longer a viable option for most Apple products.”  [View news story]

To clarify some comments here, isn't it the bureaucrats in government that formulate the laws which then go to those politicians who pass the legislation without real analysis. At that point the high paid tax lawyers and accountants scour the documents to look for loopholes to please their well-heeled clients and the real loser is Joe taxpayer? There is something morally(if not legally) wrong with a flag waving domestic corporation opening a post office box in Switzerland and calling itself a foreign division outside the purview of the IRS.

I wish Americans would take the time to learn more about their northern neighbours and their political system. We " Canadians " did not throw out our government. The common man in the street was reasonably happy with things as they were going on . As usual it was the opportunistic opposition parties who joined together to introduce a "red herring " motion of non-confidence to force the government to dissolve and call an election that will cost us approx $300,000,000.
Don't compare us to those sad sacks in Portugal!!!We are in better shape than most countries in the world including the US.
