  • WSJ: Two iPhones shipping in early September  [View news story]
Unless the new IPhone has a larger screen to compete with the Samsung Note, or at least the Galaxy, I am most assuredly not interested. Some of us older users require a larger screen due to diminishing eyesight. Until Apple realizes this I will not upgrade my Iphone 3gs for essentially the same phone. Yes, I am aware of the upgrades since the 3gs but that is irrelevant. A larger screen will prompt me to plunk down some bucks.

  • AMD (AMD +5.8%) is continuing this spring's take-no-prisoners rally/short-squeeze - shares are now up 83% from their April 18 low. This morning, the chipmaker announced a reference design (powered by its Opteron 6300 server CPUs) for Facebook's modular Open Compute server platform. AMD claims servers based on its design can drastically lower ownership costs for a PC virtualization deployment.  [View news story]
The actual short position is 18.37%, down from the prior 2 week report. 96,064,700 (current) vs. 102,225,000

  • Over its previous opposition, Apple (AAPL) implemented earlier this month a plan requiring executive officers to hold 3x their annual base salary in stock. The CEO is required to hold 10x his salary, and independent directors 5x their retainer.  [View news story]
This seems great at first glance. However, every executive and director is provided with stock/stock options upon achieving those levels. IMO it is little more than a massage job for the shareholders and Markets.

  • The Investment Case For Phablets: A New Gadget That Will Capture Your Attention  [View article]
Two years ago I contacted Apple via emails, yes, plural times in an attempt them to create a hybrid phone consisting of a mini tablet & the IPhone. Not once had a received a reply of any kind from them. I had assumed that Apple had perceived my idea as another crackpot thought reigning in Sci-Fi land. IF Apple does put into production such a device I suppose I will be exonerated. A courtesy return email would have been the proper thing for Apple to do. In spite of having been snubbed Apple products are still my EChoice and I STILL maintain a long position in the Company.

A phablet would, no strike that, WILL BE a dominant communication device.

Correction in their debt. They have $225mm , not $200mm in debt maturing in 2017. The new debt they incurred is for $500mm not $400mm at 5.375% the interest expense will wxpand by $9mm+ to $26.875mm in interest payments per year.Too much additional debt was addedwhich coupled with their billions in programming obligations places Netflix in a very precarious state. They will need to increase the subscriber base geometrically in order to become a viable entity. I am of the opinion Netflix bit off more than they can handle.

  • Celsion's HEAT Study: A Far From Certain Outcome - Part 2  [View article]
The person you are bashing, Biotech Sage, has some credentials! Have you taken the time to read his profile? It just so happens I have. "Sage" has a PHD in BIOPHYSICS. Uhuh....Perhaps you should consider at least understanding his thought process. He has more knowledge pertaining to this potential process than any of "YOU" investors! "Sage" has gone out of his way to educate the unknowing investors in CLSN and you greet him with harsh and rude retorts. A good investor listens to the pro's and con's of the issues in hand. Time for everyone invested in CLSN to pay attention and consider that the FDA will not be as gullible as you alleged investors are. I am interested in CLSN but this is not the pot of gold you all believe it to be.
Having said my piece in defense of Biotech Sage I will be investing a nominal amount into CLSN.

  • What Wal-Mart's Promotion Of The Apple iPhone Means For Both Companies  [View article]
Walmart is but one company offering the AAPL promo of their own volition. Target, Fry's Best Buy & At&T offer similar AAPL discounts. I do not consider this a PR move for any of the retailers , and , As far as AAPL's image? Time will tell.

  • After meeting with Samsung (SSNLF.PK) execs, Google's (GOOG) Eric Schmidt provided a more spirited defense of the top Android licensee's legal fight against Apple (AAPL) than what Google provided following Apple's California win. "Patent wars prevent choice, prevent innovation ... With respect to Apple patents, the best thing we can tell there are plenty of prior arts." But Schmidt, who probably doesn't want to see Google's iOS search deal go away, still called Apple "a very good partner." (previous[View news story]
Schmidt doesn't relish the idea of Google being next in line, thus the massage job.

  • Chesapeake Energy (CHK -6.5%) is sliding on heavy volume. Reuters reports the SEC's Texas office has been demanding documents from Chesapeake as part of the agency's probe into the company's deals with CEO Aubrey McClendon. Meanwhile, Baker Hughes (BHI +9.4% - previous) reports the rig count for U.S. natural gas wells has fallen to 518 thanks to weak prices. That figure is down 45% from October's high, and represents a 13-year low.   [View news story]
Buy when the market is fearful; Sell when the market is greedy.
As a long term play CHK is an outright bargain. In time Aubrey's mess will be passe and NatGas prices will be once again well above $5.00 . I am long CHK and have added to position today.

  • Carl Icahn discloses a 7.56% stake in Chesapeake Energy (CHK +1.5%) via 13D filings. Icahn: "If you continue to arbitrarily refuse the request we have made for shareholder representation, we, as activists, will immediately take whatever 'actions' we feel are necessary to protect the value of this company."   [View news story]
Natural Gas is near an historic low. I do not believe the current price for natural gas will remain at his level much longer. A potential suitor of CHK would have the same conviction as I. IMO there exists many deep pocketed companies, or private fund groups, who would be more than slightly interested in owning CHK, even with the debt load which would in essence become proportional with a Natural Gas price increase.

  • One problem with Aubrey McClendon's plan to turn around Chesapeake (CHK +1.7%) via a rebound in natural gas prices by 2014: He may not have two years to wait. An SEC filing reveals top shareholder Southeastern Asset Management may initiate talks with CHK and third parties about taking steps to boost the share price or sell the company outright.   [View news story]
Unless CHK can pare down its huge debt and await a spike in natural gas prices, "Southeastern" is simply chasing windmills.

  • Research In Motion: Ready For A Big Bounce  [View article]
Your analysis of RIMM was well displayed and at face value has much merit. Unfortunately, RIMM has fallen way too far of the market leaders and has little chance of survival. IMO, RIMM is a prime candidate for a short position prior to earnings release. For those who are long RIMM, I do hope I am incorrect. I will not be long or short RIMM, but, I may buy a few puts.

  • Aggressive Growth Plan Sets Sunpeaks Ventures Up For Bright Future  [View article]
Reality check; Currently, SNPK is in a very limited number of locations, offering a product with an extremely limited potential customer base, I doubt there exists enough need for Clotamin in it's two strategic locales( South Florida & Ohio). Meaningful revenue will not materialize for at least 3 years. Inspite of this , I am long SNPK, even after researching what amounts to a shell corporation with no current revenue stream and virtually no assets.
