Why should we care what the members of the Change Wave Alliance think or plan for? This fundamental question has never been answered in these never-ending articles coming from your organization. If you could publish research that establishes a relationship between your members choices with the consumer at large, I might pay some attention to this. Aug 13 10:21 AM

"The survey was conducted June 6-12, 2007 and a total of 3,881 members of the ChangeWave Alliance participated."

I'd like to see data on how closely Alliance members buying habits relate to the consumer world in general. Otherwise this is meaningless.

ummm how many iPods sold the first weekend? Looks like 500,000+ iPhones sold the first three days. That probably doesn't count the web orders or ATT waiting list orders. Jul 02 08:01 AM
    • Disinformation: Apple Gets Hit By Wall Street's New Secret Weapon [view article]
" John Kerry did the USA and the military a dis-service when he "testified" in front of Congress that..."

Pritchett's remarks about Kerry are utterly and completely off subject, but contemplate this: This article is about the huge cost to investors, society and even democracy of disinformation campaigns. Pritchett excoriates John Kerry as treasonous for telling the truth to Congress and contradicting the disinformation put out about the Vietnam war at the time by the US government. Pritchett seems to be supporting disinformation campaigns as long as they result in an outcome which is desirable by him.

This sloppy thinking results in disaster. Some examples: The election of a US president swung by the out and out lies of the Vietnam Veterans for TRUTH campaign, a catastrophic war based on a lie (9/11=Al Qaeda=Iraq), and most recently, an attempt by the Justice Dept to replace key federal prosecutors to launch unfounded investigations into voter fraud against democrats to swing upcoming elections. All intentional disinformation campaigns to change an outcome. I'm sure each and every one of these evil acts were carried out by people who believed they were serving the highest good for their country. But lying never serves the highest good.

I could go on, but I would ask Mr. Pritchett if he wants to live in a country where the rule of law, democracy and fundamental institutions are compromised and manipulated at will. Because that's what will happen if we fear the truth. By Pritchett's logic we should condemn the generals who are now speaking out against the Iraq war and people who are called to testify to congress under oath and lie should be celebrated as heroes (Alberto Gonzales).

The people who manipulated Apple stock need to be punished and even more important an administration that cares more about what it can get away with than the truth must be brought to justice.

Thank god John Kerry had the courage to tell the truth to Congress and helped in his small way to stop that war.

And thank god I bought Apple at $7.25 and didn't sell.
