This may be the reason for the strong upward push on 9/27 that I noted in my blog on 9/28.. Couldn't find any news to support that big push.. Now I have a suspicion that the buying was due to the decision about increasing the dividend... but ...who knows????

  • The Collapse, Death, And End Of The Euro  [View article]
Over the last 10 years, I have traveled a lot throughout Europe, and have seen my buying power decrease against the Euro. I reduced my trips to Europe when the Euro hit 1.4. When and if the Euro gets down to the 1.00 to 1.10 range, I will start spending more time in Europe as I will be able to buy things for what I think that are worth.
Maybe a million other Americans feel the same way.

  • 4 Possible Breakout Stocks With Earnings on Wednesday, July 27th  [View article]
One of the keys to GLW's stock price is its success in the China market. Within the past year, Corning has announced about $1 billion in new investments in China. In Feb, they were forcasting sales of at least $1.2 b this year and that they could reach $2 b by 2014.

I am long GLW, and will continue to hold position.

  • The Options Strategy That Outperforms  [View article]
I thought you had sold the Aug 86 call for 0.62 and bought the Aug 88 call for 0.28. This would make this a Bear Call Vertical spread for a credit, not a debit. Let me know if my notes are wrong about this.

Thanks for your article. Waching DIN for possible short, but very low options volume. Same with CGB and FL. PCLN has the only decent options volume to get in with a short position.

  • Cisco Systems (CSCO) falls further into the red on FQ4 guidance of $0.37-0.39 vs. $0.42 Street consensus. Sales seen flat to +2% vs. 8% Street view. CSCO recently -2.1%.   [View news story]
Use the next 3 to 6 months to begin adding to your positions in CSCO. Looks like the last fiscal quarter will be belt tightening time at Cisco, and results will not be showing up until FY12.

I have long positions in C and am buying more on dips. I believe that it will be about 2 more years for the housing mortgage problems to get resolved, so this is definitely a long term investment for me.
