  • Chamber study predicts Obama's "war on coal" will kill jobs  [View news story]
Yes, great Idea. Lets ban wheels so we can invent a better idea.

This is what a government education can do to an otherwise normal brain.

I live 10 miles downwind of one of the largest coal electric plants in the USA and the air has never been more clear. If you want to see real smog go to California.

If that's true then coal is definitely in the USA's future.

Too funny. China is building two coal fired electric generation facilities a week.

Your comment is as stupid as saying Obunghole is "trying" to reduce his "carbon footprint"

Define "pollution" in a way that makes sense. If you take a dump are you "polluting?"

  • EPA backpedals after documents show cutback in 2014 ethanol blend  [View news story]
I curious as to why a free people, building cars that free people would like to buy "NEED" to satisfy your wants?

You talk of laziness but what is more lazy than using hired GUNS to FORCE people to buy your crappy product. If it was a decent product you would not need to use hired GUNS to FORCE people to act against their own interests.

If NASCAR "desires" to use E15, then I completely support them. If they didn't "DESIRE" to use it, would it be a great policy to FORCE them to use it?

The "oil industry" cannot FORCE you to use their product; its a matter of your "CHOICE". The EPA can put you in prison and even shoot to kill you if you don't comply with their ORDERS.

I would not be able to live with myself if I needed hired THUGS with GUNS to FORCE people to buy my CRAP.

Listen, my Toyota has a warning NOT to use E15 or E85 in it. So who knows more: The criminal politicians and the farm-ethanol lobby that bribes them or the car manufacturer?

What Toyota's ax to grind in this?

They have stated that using E15 will void their engine warranty

As far as nasty blows, I want the ethanol criminals to get as many as I can deliver.

Strike a blow for freedom, kill the ethanol bribes.

Underlying all of the pretty words it's as ugly as it can get, greedy farmers and ethanol producers need to use government guns bought with bribes to FORCE you to use their crappy product even if it ruins one of your largest investments, your car

    AAA Warns Consumers
The American Automobile Association also expressed concerns about E15, and issued warnings to drivers about elevated ethanol content.

“This new CRC research provides further support for AAA’s position that E15 sales should be suspended,” said AAA spokeswoman Ginnie Pritchett. “The association continues to recommend that the EPA initiate additional research to more fully assess the effects of E15 on consumer vehicles.”

On previous occasions, AAA warned its members that using E15 can not only cause damage to the vehicle but also void the vehicle’s warranty.

“While the latest CRC study examined only a limited range of fuel system components, the findings indicate there are certain fuel pump designs that could suffer accelerated wear and failure as a result of exposure to E15,” Pritchett said. “In addition, some fuel level senders could experience signal degradation with consequences observable to the consumer.”

OK ethanol criminals, get your hands out of our pockets and convince people that your crappy product developed with your own money is worth a flying fig. If you can survive more power to you. As PT Barnum has stated, there's a sucker born every minute.

Ethanol does indeed have its place; keeping the criminal politicians drunk on it so they can harm us less.

Ethanol is a crime. If ethanol is good stuff then why do you need criminal politicians with guns to force people to buy it?

Are you a communist or do you believe in FREE markets?

  • Crunch Time For Gold Again  [View article]
Where is all this growth going to come from? Obama driving the last manufacturer out of the country?

Increasing government union teachers salaries so they can buy more flat screen Chinese TVs?

More social programs and more welfare? Why doesn't Zimbabwe simply print more money and spend themselves into prosperity, or have they run out of room to print all the zeros on their currency?

  • The Issues With Corporate Junk Bonds  [View article]
Of course what is often not mentioned is that junk bonds are simply standard corp bonds that have fallen into disfavor usually due to credit risk. This means that the bonds are highly discounted. Junk AMR debentures went into default last year and the price of the 9% bond fell to less than 17% of par. My friend bought $100,000 of them at 16 and change after they filed. These bonds are now trading at 80 and he has sold most of them prior to them be converted to common stock after they emerge from bankruptcy.

Junk bonds are not always about yield. Their deep discounts make capital gains very attractive for those with guts and some knowledge. (and the ability to take a few punches)
