  • Recovery isn't a complicated calculus: You can't have it until housing bounces back, and that won't happen until banks figure out a comfortable middle ground on lending - which means consumer debt is still the key issue, Fox's Dunstan Prial writes. Consumer spending is some 70% of the U.S. economy, and the average consumer has a debt-to-income ratio of 150%.  [View news story]
As the budget gets balanced which jobs will get cut? Spending borrowed money gets US where? While I have always worked and managed my finances watching DC is infuriating...where is my picket sign? Recovery will eventually occur once we all realize DC is bankrupt. Housing recovery might take a while. I'm not holding my breath.

  • Can Occupy Wall Street Affect the Market? [View instapost]
    We are legion
    We do not forget
    We do not forgive
    Expect us....

Interesting how Hollywood's been on the Fringe of what has been playing out over the last 15 years.

    Tyler Durden quote,
"Man, I see in Fight Club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see it squandered. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables – slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our great war is a spiritual war. Our great depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars, but we won't. We're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off."

As a individual investor it pays to pay attention to the masses.

  • What's The Connection Between Gold And Natural Gas? [View article]
Thanks for the link. Not sure if you noticed but Obama circumvented congress and is using the EPA for his clean air agenda. It's on the site or the EPA.

Clne Ceo is working with Aubrey and truck manufactures so that the egg and chicken problem can both be solved in the near future.

Can I hope for some serious inflation. Does that make me a bad person?

Interesting! First paragraph reminded me of Orwell's 1984. As we watch events unfold it will be interesting to see what occurs with inflation. Kicking the can solves nothing! Try explaining what is going on to your 13 yr. old.

Curious question I posed to him and will pose to you. Say you own 6% of GE. Do you let Congress affect your holdings? Sure if you own 80k you might want to lighten up a bit heading into the weekend. Food for thought from a individual investors perspective.

I will be watching HR 1380 in the comming weeks.

  • Gulfport Energy: Why I Got This Call Dead Wrong [View article]
Just a thought. I belonged to a club back in the day in Vegas 54 holes dues were fair 200 a month.

Smart guy by the name of Walters bought the whole shebang. Raised dues to $400 a month. Pretty much figuring on losing half of the members, but maintaining the same rev. Took 36 holes and made them into golf course condo's. Made a ton.

If Big oil gets consumers used to $4 and $5 dollar pump prices wont that drive demand for lower cost NG alternatives up. So over time America gets a win for accomplishing two objectives Green and Home Grown GDP aka not sending $$$'s oversea's. As I see it playing out over the next decade is a move off of costly oil, mostly imported to a cheaper alternative. Big oil still keeps the similiar revs even though less oil is sold, but all their latest purchases of NG Co's keep their revenue stream good as NG prices double or higher from their purchase price.

But hey what do I know. I'm just a guy who loves golf and stocks.

Gmxr seems cheaper than most in the industry at 2.85x Sales and 1.41x book. I added it to my watchlist. Trying to find the ticker for the preferred shares that pay a divy soon. Delta trades at 1.58x sales and .54 x book. Which is cheaper by a good bit.

It'sonly - Investing is like investigating. Eliminate the nonsense and stick with the facts.

People that write checks with 6 zero's have to think differently. You don't just type in buy 2million shares of xyz and expect that order to fill.

  • Just One Stock: Heavy Upside From a Leveraged Play on Rising Silver Prices [View article]

I would love to discuss the merits of the physical asset vs. having the assets waiting in the ground. I believe the in the ground will outperform.

Regarding Delta - Orignally when Kirkorian looked at delta he paid 19 a share. Of course we had a near collapse and NG prices have made it uneconomical for many, but I and KK share a differnt time horizon than most.
