  • Introducing The Team Alpha Retirement Portfolio: Now Making An Appearance For Everyone [View article]
I have been following this gentleman and subscribed to his email service. Overall, he has been a steady hand in a volitile market. Those dividends have helped tremendously. I am not gambling with my retirement funds and Alan is accountable and has said when he should not have bought etc. Can't beat a keen financial person with integrity to admit he made a mistake. He also called Ambarella in the low 20s as I recall. Thanks RS.

  • The Perfect Portfolio For Retirement Is An Illusion [View article]
Great article RS. I do agree that total return is of course the ultimate but I believe that starting with higher dividend payouts of solid multinational companies is the way to smooth out the roller coaster ride of the markets. Another spot on article by RS.

I follow RS and subscribe to his service-$95 a year. The comment you made on the stock not being a slam dunk is typical of his candor in his analyses he makes. That what makes him a solid person to follow. Jim

  • Verizon's 12%-Plus Total Return Potential [View article]
I currently own shares of AT&T and I also own VZA which is verizon's preferred which pays over 5.5%. I decided to do it that way to gain more dividend income recognizing less growth potential.

So no wonder I subscribed to your 2015 service. Both my wife and I have c-maxes (different colors!). I am getting almost 43 to the gallon now and love it. And I think you are right about COP as an aside. Best. Jim

I bought T, XOM, JNJ, PFE, MCD, GE during the recent downturn. RS articles and advice gave me some backbone to get more dividends to my retirement account and look longer term.

  • Seadrill: How To Play With A Falling Knife [View article]
I bought 500 at 36 and was feeling pretty good. Well the falling knife stabbed me and I sold all of it around 30 so lost money but dividends helped. I would like to get back in at some point but the falling knife continues.

  • Retirement Strategy: The 'Buy The Dips Portfolio' Had A Blah Month, But There Are A Few New Opportunities Right Now [View article]
Thanks RS. I do have to say it is hard to buy a stock as the price declines but I can see that you need to look beyond the short term versus longer time. I am looking at Exxon as it continues to go South. I would buy in my retirement portfolio. I am 66 but don't plan on touching it until 70. So, I keep telling myself don't be concerned but still hard to do it. BTW, I sent you a check today to join your service. I look forward to making $ with you. Show me the money RS! LOL. Thanks. Jim

  • Retirement Strategy: Sorry Warren, But You're A Cheapskate [View article]
While I agree somewhat with your position, RS has been providing some of the best articles on SA and I think he is entitled to provide his perspective on the issue. Candidly, while I knew that Berkshire did not pay a dividend I never gave it much thought. This article crystallizes the issue for me.

Not going to buy into earnings. If they miss expectations, I would love to see you do an update to see if you think it is a better buy if stock price tumbles. Thanks. I am reading all your updates. I am looking to buy your ETF portfolio for some of my IRA. Jim

I candidly would not trust regarded solutions if he did not do a reverse when fundamentals and the interest rate situation dictated a move away from NLY.
