  • 4 Dividend Stocks to Hedge Against Social Security Failure [View article]
The average person(family) can not accumulate
enough funds to support themselves in a long
retirement based on a 2 or 3% return.

If you only get 3% return on a million dollars you will
only generate $30,000.00 anual income. That is a
less than average income for 2 people much less
if it has to support more people.

The fact these stocks consistantly raise their dividends
is meaningless when they pay out such a low percent
    of the base investment.

  • Suburban Propane Waters Down Its Stock  [View article]
your over concern for capital gain from a dividend
stock that has paid a steady stream of increased
dividends year after year does not make sense.

If you are investing for income capital gain is welcome
and for most of the dividend paying stocks I own have
    appreciated ofer time.

My son found this stock years ago and we continue
    to add to our shares.

    Ca ching.

  • Buybacks Decline, But Dividends Actually Trending Higher [View article]
Buy backs should be eliminated and dividends should be increased.
Stock options should be held a minimum of 5 years and can not be
bought with loan from same company which is then forgiven the
next year by their board of directors.
