  • Surge Energy: Has The Surge Come To An End? [View article]
VD you wrote, "The smart money need to look elsewhere to find the next Surge Energy."

So, the million-dollar question now, is which company is the next Surge Energy according to your opinion?

  • Lonestar Resources Is A Great Value Long Term For Your Portfolio [View article]
You were very disappointed by the end of July from LNR, you should sell by then. I'm sure you could find other stocks that fit better to your investing profile, than hold a stock that makes you frustrated.

  • Halcon Resources: The Future Remains Questionable And Unclear [View article]
    Hey VD,

You mentioned DUNE Energy (DUNR) in this article which is heavily indebted. Just in case you missed it, DUNR was acquired by EOPT a couple of days ago without any premium. DUNR was acquired at $0.30 per share.
Obviously, the zero premium is because of DUNR's debt. This is something that all HK shareholders need to know, I think...

And why does it take Halcon so long to repair the second TMS well? This does not sound promising to me.
Look what they announced in late July and more than 1.5 month has passed since then:

"Completion operations are ongoing on Halcon's second operated TMS well in Mississippi, the Black Stone 4H-2 (87% WI -- 5,400' drilled lateral), located in Wilkinson County. All 22 frac stages were successfully pumped; however, the Company encountered fill during clean out operations near stage 10. Halcon was only able to partially clean out the fill and additional clean out operations are underway. Flow back is expected to commence once clean out operations are finalized. "

No word about the Fassman 9H-1 and the SD Smith 1H wells either, although they were completed in late July...

  • Goodrich Petroleum: Interpreting Variability In TMS Well Results [View article]
Richard, GDP can claim whatever it wants, given that it desperately seeks these days to find a JV partner and sell its TMS acreage for $5,000 per acre!
Please see Polevoi's article about GDP's plan:

    http://seekingalpha.co...

The IP rates have always been crucial for the economics of a well in the energy sector. GDP cannot change this overnight just because its poor drilling results do not help its strategy...

I have not seen ECA to be excited for its TMS acreage and its TMS results. This should be another point of concern, I think.

  • Bakken Update: Analysts Have This Recent Permian IPO Growing 88% In 2015 [View article]
You keep comparing apples to oranges.

At 4x EBITDA, you cannot find another heavily oil-weighted US producer aside Lonestar (LNREF).

    FYI,

LNR produces 87% oil and liquids.

SM produces ~55% oil and liquids.

Manitok produces ~55% oil and liquids.

ROSE produces ~65% oil and liquids and a big part of it is NGLs.

meridian6, are you done with your NON-facts about Lonestar Resources (LNREF) that drills the Eagle Ford right next to EOG Resources (EOG)?

Now let's see the facts from Lonestar's Q2 report:

    - Production currently is 5,005 boepd.

    - Lonestar is the OPERATOR of its acreage.

    - The company increased substantially its exit 2014 rate from 6,000 boepd to 6,500 - 7,000 boepd.

    - The company reiterated its 2014 EBITDAX guidance of $105 to $125 million.

    - The company owns more than 30,000 net acres in the crude oil window of the EF.

    - The company forecasts an average production growth of 40% and an average EBITDA growth of 50% for 2015 compared to 2014. In other words, 2015 EBITDA will jump to approximately $170 million and 2015 Production will reach 10,000 boepd.

    - Lonestar has not changed its projection to fund its budget out of operating CF in 2015 and beyond.

Generalizations about penny stocks, pumps and dumps etc are trite even for a newbie and I'm far for being one.

    Sorry.

Yes, Lonestar (LNREF) drills the Eagle Ford and trades just 4 times its 2014 EBITDA at the current price of $0.4, but it's not possible to include all companies in an article, I assume.

Altough there is no perfect stock, VD's picks have proved resistant to any criticism due to their quality.
So in his last articles, his criticizers have turned to him once again, instead of his picks.

Personally I consider the last two top idea stocks of VD as even better than the previous ones he has released.

Stock price of PTA.V closed at C$0.385 before VD's article, made a few trades at 0.42-0.43 after and then dropped to 0.40.
I can't see that as a "drop like a rock", especially for volatile stocks like this one.

  • Eclipse Resources Corporation: A Shiny Penny Still Isn't Worth Twenty Five Cents [View article]
I agree with you completely, Dallas. Eclipse is overvalued as you have pointed out so thoroughly.

I follow all the Marcellus development. Mostly Epsilon Energy (OTCPK:EPSEF) that drills the sweet spot of the play.

What is your opinion about Epsilon Energy? Have you check it?
Another SA author, "Value Digger", wrote a Top Idea article about it in July.

    Thank you.

Except TimmiesRegular and Frogmaier comments and a part of Bankstocks first comment about HK, all the others have spent my time reading about the "big fraud", "Lone Star" (there is no such co) and other irrelevant things...

There is a lot of bullish articles about HK lately, I think a bearish one is not something which should make longs so angry. Just, you have your info and data, provide them here.

Desclaimer: No short or long position in HK.
