  • Inventory Risks Loom For Apple [View article]
The author missed an important point noted by Apple. Although inventory levels rose they were not as high as management desired. That generally means a supply/sales imbalance from the supply side. They cannot make enough of them. Supply problems, of course, are generally easier to correct than sales. I believe Apple management thought they managed the quarter very well and were surprised in the market reaction. The market has a fixation on units sold and ASP. The market wants both to go only up. That, of course, is virtually impossible.

  • Apple's Declining Advantage Is Undeniable [View article]
The Apple 5s is destroying the Samsung Galaxy S4. The Samsung release of earnings all but admitted it. Even with Samsung discounts on the S4 they are losing sales and share in the premium market.

Why do you have gross margin decreasing when you have the growth coming from the high margin iPhone?

  • Apple Is Just 1 Year Away From Becoming A 'Boring' Dividend Income Stock [View article]
Interesting article based upon assumption instead of fact. Unfortunately, for the author will probably be proved wrong as the facts unfold. Growth is not dead. Apple is not mature. It is moving ahead in ways the author does not seem to comprehend. Most mature people do not understand the transformation going on in the new world. Most authors do not really understand what Apple is and what it means to those ever increasing numbers in its eco-system.

  • Apple: It's Not About Icahn, It's About Growth [View article]
Yes, but the author misses the point about Amazon. They grow top line but do not make a profit. You assume they will some day make a profit to justify the stock price. Why? I have used Amazon for years but I am now moving away when I have to pay sales tax. I moved a sizable order this week from Amazon to Overstock for that reason. Also as Amazon raises prices to make a profit many users will probably move else ware. Many if not most use Amazon based on price. The new one day delivery has a very limited appeal. I could care less about it.

  • 3 Reasons Why Apple Is Heading Lower [View article]
Very poor article based not on fact but weak assumptions. The China mobile deal reports in the WSJ helped run up Apple. Then China Mobile denied a contract was in place only saying talks were ongoing. Stock backed off. A China Mobile deal has been rumored for months. With each rumor the stock bounced up or down. As for the statement that products do not make you money in the stock market, Apple's fantastic products have made me millions in Apple stock. Apple is where it is because of its products.

  • Apple Will Miss iPhone's Consensus Sales Of 55 Million [View article]
Interesting. Apple cannot continue to grow because of its size, but Samsung, who sells more cell phone can continue to grow. Apple has proved again with the 5s that Samsung will never dominate the premium market. The Samsung numbers are padded by the low end (dumb) smart phones they sell. Since there is no universal definition of smart phone the author is comparing "apples" to oranges.

  • Apple Looks To Level The Carrier Playing Field [View article]
Very good article. It shows what Cook brought to Apple. He is not personally innovative from a technical stand point but he is a really good businessman.

  • Why Apple Didn't Fix Its Biggest Problem [View article]
When you base an assumption on an assumption on an assumption the chances of being correct are extremely small. One small example. When you figure costs you add in variable costs and amortized fixed cost such as tooling. When you fully amortize the tooling over the expected run any additional run doses not have that cost included. Hence, the older models are much cheaper to produce than you assume. You also say they will not buy the cheaper 5c if they want to save money. Then why are estimated sales 50%. Who,is buying it and why? I have read many estimates for the 5s and 5c sales. None agree. Why do you pick the 50-50 one? In summary. To many assumptions not enough facts.

  • Why Can't Apple's Stock Gain Momentum? [View article]
"When every eligible investor has bought the stock", is a highly subjective and misleading statement. I have been an investor for over 40 years. All through those years myself and every one of the many investors I know set minimum number of shares they would buy, most set that number at one hundred shares. At a price in the 400's most individual investors cannot afford to buy Apple stock. I estimate that if they would split the stock 10 for one the number of individual investors would sky rocket primarily from Apple device lovers that do not hat forty to fifty thousand dollars to invest in one stock. I personally could easily name a dozen or two in my family and close friends.

Why bother writing an article when you acknowledge such incomplete data? It is pure guess work at this time an useless to a professional investor like myself.

  • Apple's Big Opportunity: China's Not Going Anywhere [View article]
The Analysts and market pundits put Apple in a no win box when they brought out the new 5c. If it was priced low ($350-400) they were prepared to down grade on compressed margins. It it was priced high, as it was, they were prepared to down grade on lost market share in the lower end. Hence, the down grades and stock price dip. Unfortunately few understand the true Apple story or their strategy. It is long term and based on the premium brand and Eco system. Low priced phones may become a commodity as low price cars, purses, etc. however, there will always be a place for Lexis, Mercedes, Coach, BMW, Eric. Premium brands make the big money.
