  • Nokia's Turnaround Underway As Lumia 521 Sells Out In Wal-Mart [View article]
Since when does selling out on a new launch good? Do you really think that folks will come back in a few weeks to get a Nokia....

How many sold? 2 per store, 10.... 10,000? No one knows. Without numbers all this means is lost sales.

What is selling it is the price. $150, yawn..... better sell everyone you can, and not run out of stock. Those folks probably bought a android phone...think about that.

When $600 Nokia's can't be found then maybe this company will finally have some legs.

  • Growth For Windows Phone In The U.S. Accelerates [View article]
MSFT just admitted WF8 is a bust and a new update will be out later this year. Adoption is below that of even Vista at the same release date point. http://on.mktw.net/108....

Is there a sales bump - maybe. But to gain 2% market share when you have 10X your channel size is not impressive. With the additional costs for such a large channel, I would expect to see 8-9% share by now. It has been six months since the new Lumia was first released.

Has anyone really looked at W8, it's really the same old OS with a GUI on top of it. Big deal. Why is anyone excited about this. Same old Microsoft and same old Nokia.

    They aren't fooling anyone.

Nokia needs to come out with a Droid phone.
They make phones, not an OS. Why on earth would you lock all that technology into a 5% market segment?

  • Samsung (SSNLF.PK) sold 68M-70M smartphones in Q1, up from an estimated 63M in Q4, according to 5 analysts polled by Reuters. Though the Galaxy S III/IV and Note II receive far more ink, much of this growth is fueled by low-end/mid-range Android models such as the Galaxy Young and Galaxy Fame. These phones, along with Samsung's Rex feature phone line, are adding to the pressure placed on Nokia's (NOK) feature phone ops. Earlier this week, Bernstein reported the S IV's production rate is around 10M units/month. (Samsung Q1 results[View news story]
The key comment in your post is IMO...
Checked out 5 Verizon stores and asked the sales reps whats selling:
#1 - Android Phones - "G3 is the best phone in the store"
#2 - Apple - "Loyal, young customers will buy anything apple"
    Thats it.
Comments on BB - "Dead on arrival"
Comments on Windows Phone and Lumina - "we sold a few but they are usually returned. Customers don't like the phones, they end up getting an Android phone. We sell few now"

  • Can Nokia Get A Little Respect? [View article]
Until Nokia makes a Droid based phone, this stock isn't going anywhere. Nokia owns 70% of the 3% market share of the widows phone... Now what would the stock be worth if it owned 70% of the Droid market share?

  • Thanks to supply constraints, Nokia (NOK -1.9%) only shipped 30K Lumia 920T units to China Mobile through Jan. 30, even though the world's biggest mobile carrier ordered 90K. Bloomberg reports most China Mobile outlets aren't carrying Nokia's flagship Windows Phone ahead of the Chinese New Year holidays due to the constraints - Stephen Elop has already stated Q4 920 sales were hurt by limited supplies (reportedly due to chip shortages). Nokia's Chinese sales fell 79% Y/Y in Q4. [View news story]
Three months into product release and they ship 30,000 more units to the worlds largest market than they did to the MOON....

  • This Is Why Microsoft Needs Nokia [View article]
Windows 8 adoption is worse than Vista at this point in time. That sums everything up. It's a bust. I never thought anything could be worse than Vista... I was wrong. Microsoft is just too late to the market. Nokia needs to come out with a Droid phone ASAP. Why focus on 2% of the market with their technology?
