  • Weighing Risk Vs. Reward For Newcastle Investment Corp. And Its 12% Dividend  [View article]
    Hi Tim,
Now that the NCT dividend has been declared and is only 22 cents. (Increased from 20 cents). Do you think that they still have a chance to increase the dividend to 25 cents before the first quarter of 2013 (as mentioned in your article above) ?

    Let us know your thoughts.

Great article or should I say great articles by Tim. Thank you for picking up these financial wisdom snippets and sharing them in the form of articles.

Now how do we find or know what those great or better buying terms or opportunities are. I missed the generational buying opportunity in 2009, but Buffet did not always make money by swinging hard on such opportunities.

An article or two on how to find the best terms would be very helpful.

Hey Tim - do you think MSFT, INTC, IBM are in the same category as Coke. They have increased dividends regularly too.

    Hello Todd,
First of all I would like to thank you for all the great articles on mREITS and the knowledge sharing that you do for free in the world of capitalism.

I'm new to dividend investing. I would like to ask you a couple of questions. Hope you get the time to answer them.

On Dec 19th the stock closed at 28.96.
On Dec 20th the stock closed at 28.05, yet the websites showed that the stock price was up by 49 cents. I checked on multiple websites thinking that yahoo finance was inaccurate but apparently it showed green on all the sites.

    I figured out that 28.05 + 1.40 = 28.96 + 0.49

I know the ex-dividend data was Dec 20th but I did not understand why the stock price would be reduced by the same amount as the dividend amount. I thought the dividend was paid out of the cash that the company generates.

Now my second question around the same stock AGNC is regarding the secondary offering that you mention at the bottom this article.

"The company may submit a secondary offering due to its effective business model."

AGNC had announced in the last quearter that there would be a secondary offering. Are you referring to the same offering or this is going to be another new one? And how does this impact the stock price and the dividend if it is another one?

    Thank you again in advance.
