  • A Leading Indicator Of The Coming Inflation? [View article]
And what part of the budget is rent for the average middle class family these days...40-50% if you're lucky? And what's the average yearly increase in rent the last few least 4%?

Do the math. Inflation for the avg american is coming if it's not already here

  • A Leading Indicator Of The Coming Inflation? [View article]
Really, nothing's leaked though? So when a large bank can hold homes on it's balance sheet without having to liquidate cause it's being backstopped by the Fed, then what does that do to the price of homes? It starts to jack them right back up again to where we were in 2006. People are back to flipping homes and making a huge profit. That will by definition reflate us to exactly where we were before. And look what QE has done to the stock market--we had a 30% increase last year alone in S&P500 which is unheard of, even in a booming economy. Banks are dumping money into stocks again because they have a backstop in the FED. When people start cashing out== inflation.

What I don't understand is what happens next when the FED policies get us right back to 2007 in terms of the overly inflated home prices that no average American can afford? The author is exactly right that the wealth gap between rich and poor, owner and tenant will only get worse

  • Are Silver And Gold Ready For New Lows? [View article]
"Folks, if the fundamentals of a market are not in control of the market all the time, then they have never controlled the market at any time."

I agree. It's a little scary when someone says something like that and then you look at their profile and they used to be a lawyer.

  • Is This Gold Miner A Buy? [View article]
I agree the gold miners a due to rebound.

Question: Do companies like NEM and ABX hold some of their mined gold to wait for higher prices before selling, or do they immediately sell? I'm looking at miners as an alternative to ETFs like GLD which drain your assets over time with storage fees whereas the miners actually pay you a dividend.

  • Regardless Of The Ventas Downgrade, I'll Sleep Well At Night [View article]
"The BMO downgrade was rooted in the senior housing operating assets where the healthcare REITs participate directly in the upside and downside of properties that they own. "

I don't understand this statement. Why exactly where the 2 REITs downgraded?

  • Microsoft's Xbox One: Too Much Talk - Let's Look At The Numbers [View article]
You're forgetting that originally the PS3 and Wii had a significant lead on Xbox 360, but 360 eventually closed the gap due to better multiplayer experience. Eventually it will all come down to multiplayer once again

  • Microsoft's Purchase Of Nokia And 'Go-It-Alone' Strategy Make It A Sell [View article]
The author makes some valid opinions and unlike 99% of the other anti-MSFT authors, actually knows Micosoft makes enterprise software.

I've been long MSFT since at least 2009, and here's why my investment thesis hasn't changed

    1. Low P/E
    2. Safest dividend in the universe
    3. Increasing revenue
    4. Increasing dividends
    5. Offers Dividend (unlike google)
    6. Broadest IT ecosystem on the planet
    7. Better engineering know-how than any other company I'm aware of- (and yes that absolutely includes Apple)

The fact you know all that tells me you probably still use a Palm pilot, so your opinion doesn't matter. BTW, if IBM is so great, then why do they need other companies to do the heavy lifting for them (Linux - open source devs; Java - Sun/Oracle) while Microsoft ACTUALLY DEVELOPS THEMSELVES all their service offerings?

I was going to rip this author myself, until I saw his opinion on their enterprise business. At least this author is aware they have that division, unlike other analysts who can only understand simplistic devices like phones and tablets.

  • Microsoft Corporation's Results Aren't That Bad [View article]
I agree with everyone wanting to add to their MSFT position if it falls into the high 20's. Safest dividend in the universe. Consistent increases as well. They're one of only 4 triple A rated companies and unlike JNJ, their valuation has yet to take off.

  • The Inflation Hoax [View article]
It seems like you're arguing against your original thesis. If it costs more money today vs X years ago to pay someone to do the same amount of work, then that's inflation. The purchasing power of the dollar has declined.
