  • Reexamining Offshore Drillers: Buy, Sell Or Hold? Part 3 [View article]
HERO has a lot of cash on hand, no real debt, contracts lined up for years. The new rig is already paid for in Contracts. they have ads in a few Countries for new crews, which to me shows more contracts and re-activating some of their rigs in storage. Mexico and Brazil will soon be looking for Jack-up drillers. USA needs to become oil self sufficient and the GOM where HERO is centralized in one of the hottest future markets.
HERO is heavily shorted, somewhere around 20,000,000 shares, which is more than the actual float. When these guys are forced to cover, HERO can take off like a Rocket.

  • Transocean +1.4% as Citigroup calls a bottom for shares, rig market [View news story]
I have been following HERO for 6 months, it's ready to explode. They were the victim of "Naked Short Selling" to the tune of 13.9 million shares. stock is 77% owned by institutions. The SEC has just busted the firm mostly responsible for the Naked Short Selling and pointed out HEARO as their main target. this Firm will soon be forced to cover. Add this to all the new oil and gas leases the Gov't just auctioned off in the Gulf and HERO is in a Super position right now.

Brazil and Mexico also offer contract potential for HERO. The only thing holding it back is the Naked Short Sellers. Although the SEC is aware of them, it has yet to force them to cover as per their regulations.
HERO should be @ $7+ once the shorters move on.

  • The Market For High-Specification Jack-Ups Shows No Sign Of A Glut, But Problems At Lower End [View article]
As for HERO, they are more into the shallow water rigs. They are small but building and re-newing their fleet. Their stock is a diamond in the rough, but could easily double in a year.
There is a shortage of rigs, period, the older rigs do not command as high of day rates, but since the newer rigs are booked, the older referbushed rigs are still in demand (due to a lack of choice). The current oil and gas boom is threatening the Arab Cartel. The sooner more Countries become self sufficient the better.
In a few years when this becomes a reality, oil prices will drop due to supply and demand and competition. There are currently U.S. Companies that have stated they can make a good return on $50 a barrel oil.

  • Vale's Depressed Valuation Offers Opportunity For Anti-Cyclical Long-Term Investors [View article]
Gov't control is a bad thing in general, too many personal agenda's. When the U.S. gov't took over Mustang Ranch, a super profitable whore house, they ran it into the ground is short order.
On the flip side I am expecting the Chinese Gov't to lift their ban on Vale's super ships from un-loading at Chinese ports. This could happen any day. When it does VALE stock is in for a decent step up.

  • Commodities Today: Earnings Moving Stocks And Potash Names Still Under Pressure [View article]
Money is a big motivating factor. Once the Cartel has a chance to think about it, they may just swallow their pride for the sake of all the money they will be loosing. The world economy has caused farmers to cut back on fertilizer use. Although the soil can last a year or 2, in the long run farmers will see huge production losses if they do not fertilize. To make up for not buying in the past, they will have to buy excess in the near future to replentish the soil.
I see this drop as a good buying opportunity and I am taking advantage of it.
