  • Amazon Appstore to be available on BlackBerry 10 phones [View news story]
Snap would be a nice addition to the app stores as well. People are blown away when I show that I can run android apps on my z10. The only caveats are that some work better than others. Nothing beats built for BlackBerry.

  • Apple Is Walking Up The Down Staircase [View article]
How much more can the company really grow? China is next, there is about 100 million who can afford an apple product. Will they buy one? Replacement or repurchase with current models will account for most of the regular underlying revenue stream as far as hardware. Revenue has to come from services. Apps and entertainment seem to be where Apple is headed. Samsung is already in the hardware end of those industries, Apple wants to sell consumers the content. Content is king. Managing that revenue stream is the key to Apples future. Keeping the consumer on board is going to get tricky as technologies seem to be reaching a saturation point in regards to real innovation. Before I get flamed for that, I mean real step innovative not incrementally innovative. From features to smartphone is a step, model numbers are for the most part incremental. It doesn't take long before what is being introduced is not being purchased as it doesn't differ from the previous enough to warrant the expense of the change. The future is in providing content.

  • Bloomberg: BlackBerry to get major boost from Ford [View news story]
The qnx system is compatible with all systems. It is an excellent base from the which to base anything on. I think that the auto industry will love the air updates to the software of the vehicle.

  • Apple Is Living On Borrowed Time [View article]
Apple is holding the consumer "hostage" , and not in a totally negative way. They have a cradle to grave approach to the consumer. Integration, applications, multiple lines of singular products. This just started to change with the introduction of the new ipads, however, it has not fragmented usage. The iPad mini did lessen profit from the regular iPad, but it was a necessary evil due to the demand for a smaller product. As long as they are providing value, this won't change. And by the way, I do not use an iphone, I have been held hostage by a different ecosystem. It provides me with everything I need with value as well. There are choices, apple needs to ensure that they are the best choice... Time will tell.

  • Apple Event Will Send The Bears Into Hibernation [View article]
Really? Leaps and bounds. Until you actually use the product you might want to keep your apple Kool aid to yourself. There was really no major upgrades in technology or the OS. It was a paint job and an tune up. I won't be buying. No need to upgrade. Imho

My z10 makes me happy every day. And yes there are iPhones in my house. Kind of sad, watching my kids play games. But each device has its own support.

  • Apple: Stop The Dividend (Icahn Would Likely Agree) [View article]
Okay. 12.20 per share is 2.4% give or take, and will diminish as or if share price increases. I agree buyback will increase ips and should increase stock price.

  • After opening higher, BlackBerry (BBRY -1.6%) has slumped in the wake of another critical note from Deutsche's Brian Modoff. Though believing BlackBerry's FQ1 results (due June 28) could beat estimates, Modoff says BB10 checks have been mixed, with Europe a weak spot. He's also worried about Q5 demand in emerging markets due to possible pricing and app fragmentation issues, and mentions BlackBerry's U.K. managing director "abruptly left the company this week." Why are people allowed to publish what is obviously a complete load of rubbish. I am so looking forward to seeing shorting stocks become illegal. If you don't like a company don't buy the shares. But once again, the thieves on wall street have found a way to manipulate and siphon off money from the little guy.
