  • Will iPads Replace Textbooks In K-12 Classrooms? [View article]
How do you equate improvement in learning with the weight of a back pack?

And I might add, that I was lucky enough to have proper principles and standards instilled in me. How to hold a pencil or pen properly (have you seen how these children write? Let alone cursive), to do with extra studies at home.

Instead, give children a screen and fill them will pills.

Clearly, I do. My father is a civics teacher while my mother taught latin at my high school.

Perhaps I'm just fighting windmills. Perhaps I think a child should learn the classic way with motivation, dedication and a willingness to take responsibility for success.

Perhaps I'm just disillusioned with every other kid being labeled "austic" or "learning impaired." The last thing these adderall addicted "students" (in the loosest terms possible) need is another screen in front of their face.

...You've got to be kidding me... You're talking about educational reform by starting out by the weight of books?

"An iPad for everyone." That is not going to fix the fundamental cultural issues which plagues American youth. Work ethic needs to be fixed, quality of teachers need to be fixed, parents need to take an active role. Jesus, you can't fix problems by just throwing money at them.

Oh jeez... An iPad in the hands of every student? I've lost all hope for the American education system.

  • Major Cannibalization Concerns At Apple [View article]
I have never once heard a commentator on CNBC saying "Apple is dead." I'm surprised they're not paid for as much as they push it.

  • Einhorn vs. Chipotle, Round 2: Greenlight Capital's bearish stance on Chipotle (CMG +1.2%) doesn't budge an inch with the firm continuing to hold on to its view that the new menu from Taco Bell (YUM +0.2%) will be a major drag on the restaurant chain's sales. A survey by the hedge fund found a high percentage of Chiptole customers sampled the Cantina Bell menu after its launch, with 50% rating it equal or better fare. (Greenlight Capital letter .pdf) [View news story]
I honestly don't see how you guys could even suggest Einhorn is a fraud. The idea that someone at our level has put more research than Einhorn who is juggling probably a position in the tens of millions is laughable.

  • Chipotle (CMG +1.4%) sticks its neck out into positive territory after CFO Jack Hartung hits Mad Money to note the company will be "opportunistic" when it buy its stock back and highlights in detail that the so-called slump in same-store sales is mainly due to pricing increases that rolled off. Did they ever say at what price they're going to start buying back the stock?
