  • Moody's And Preferred Stock Investors View Same Market But See Very Different Risks [View article]
Wow, just a great article with many valuable insights into owning preferred stocks. I have followed your article for some time and this is pertinent as usual. Your criteria for plotting individual issues makes a great screener for investors to select worthy preferred stocks. Thanks

  • Avoid Atlantic Power [View article]
Your are correct sir, but there is a bit of gambler in all of us on this board, or our money would be buried in the back yard I took a sizable hit on this stock but at $4 and change and a double digit yield it may be time to reassess and put up a few more chips. Based on some comments on this page, people are very emotionally invested in their positions. Emotions are not a good attribute when investing. Licking my wounds but still holding AT

  • Celsion's ThermoDox May Be Back In Play [View article]
I lost a bunch of money on this company and still hold the stock since there is no point in selling spit. The key phrase in the conference call is this "while there was some improvement in small lesion cancers it was not statistically significant". Let me translate, it was no better than random chance. That my pharma gambling friends is no reason for optimism. I wish it were otherwise.

  • Atlantic Power - Buy This Merchant Power Producer For A Turnaround In FFO [View article]
I agree Cramer is an entertainer who should be wearing a clown suit during the show so people know it's all an act, but unfortunately people actually act on his recommendations. So his buffoonery is lost on some people making him a dangerous entertainer. I know people who quote his recommendation and invest based on his advise. Dumb investors are a dime a dozen and they comprise his audience.

I agree Cramer is an idiot. I use the anti-Cramer investment strategy and have made some nice gains. The strategy is simple if he says buy I sell, if he says sell I buy. It's been a profitable strategy give that he has been wrong more than he is right.

  • 2 Dividend Powerhouses That Can Replace mREIT Yields [View article]
I have followed RS since he started posting, his analysis is very good. Both BKCC and KFN are good income stocks. I have developed a stock screener that works for me, and these stocks more than pass the screen. Both are well above their Graham numbers with KFN at 2X the G# so it seems like the better buy right now, even though it's at the 52 week high it has room to run.

  • Analyzing The Future Of Telecoms, TV, And Energy [View article]
The authors credibility was gone when he used Germany as an example of the future of energy generation. When will people wake up to the reality that renewables are not a viable replacement for for fossil or nuclear generation in our lifetime. Renewable energy in all it's forms is expensive and unreliable. Germany already has generation supply problems and is buying large blocks megawatts from neighboring counties that are using "dirty" generation. So you see it's a false promise.

  • 5 Solid Yielders With Wide Moats To Consider Today [View article]
NEE is not necessarily a good pick. They are heavily invested in wind, and to a lesser extent solar. The news on alternate energies is not good of late and if their benefactor Obama doesn't get re-elected, there is a very real possibility that energy subsidies will end. NEE will tank if that happens. Long term not a good buy especially when it's near the top of its 52 week range.
