  • American Capital Ltd.: What A Share Is Worth [View article]
ACAS has been a real winner for me in that I had big long term losses that I booked after the crash and I bought big time into ACAS while it was beaten down. Thus I have been using long term gains for my income and have not had to pay any taxes as I'm able to off set against my LT losses. This has been a real bull ride since mid 2009. As for Cramer dissing the stock, I think about when I heard a caller ask him about Las Vegas Sands and Cramer said if it gets back up to five dollars a share, sell. Great advice. Check it out now.

  • American Capital's 2nd Quarter Results Show Transformation Progress [View article]
Thanks for the article Alan. I started buying ACAS (just a 100 shares) in 2008 just before it tanked and then went in agressively after it tanked. Sold the orriginal 100 after a year for the tax loss and have enoyed the bull ride ever since. I have been wondering when the big breakout will come and your article has given me the faith to hold on.

  • magicJack Hitting Headwinds Of Slowing Growth And Competitive Pressures [View article]
I don't have a position in CALL, but I am a MagicJack user. For me it has worked great, and at a fraction of the cost of any of the alternatives. I have MagicJack plus in my home in the States and one in my daughters home in Mexico. So we can make unlimited calls back and forth with no charges. She can also call any US line with no charge. In the winter when I am in Mexico I plug my Freeze alarm unit into my MagicJack and call it once a day from my daughters MagicJack and it tells me the temp in my house in the States with no charges. When I am at home in the States I call anywhere in th U. S., to any number and talk for as long as I want to with no charge. The call quality seems to be great. I ask people I am calling about the sound quality and they are surprised that I am calling from a MagicJack. I don't know how far word-of-mouth will take them, but I tell everone what a steal Magic Jack is.

  • American Capital and Northstar Realty struggle [View news story]
The share buy backs have worked great for a person like me that booked some large long term capital gain losses from the Bush recession. I bought ACAS on the cheap in 2009 and I have been able to sell shares now at a big long term capital gain and pay no tax with my offset. If they had paid BDC dividends I would have been on the hook for ordinary income. Thanks Malon

  • This Small Company Has The Magic To Conquer The World [View article]
I bought a magicjackPlus and took it to Mexico and hooked it up to my daughters modem. Now she has a california number at home in Mexico and she and her sister and myself can talk at will with no cost but the initial purchase and the little yearly charge. Works great and saves a ton of charges. I guess I should take a chance on the stock.

  • American Capital: Surging NAV With More Upside Potential [View article]
ACAS has been a great stock for me over the last three and a half years. Keep up the good work Malon Wilkus! And this article didn't even mention the carried tax credit that they have been using up.
