Micro-cap investor for technology, and somewhat of a gold/silver bug. Always a student. My favorite money story,,,on the Island of Yap, they use those big round stones with holes for money and many years ago a wealthy family hired a handful of men to make the journey two islands over to carve out a large stone and bring back. As luck would have it, the sea was too rough, the primary canoe capsized and the stone sank before it got home. What is neat,, the stone (still at the bottom) was still usuable, since the men saw/ did the work, and saw it go down, it was a done deal. The family could still purchase and borrow with it. Although this may seem strange, its very much like our banking system,, maybe even better, how often do we get to look and feel what is in the bank? How often do we have an exact labor standard for our currencies? ..gleaned from the book, "money mischief."

I've been contributing to SA since 2011, with a break to join the PRO editorial team from 2013-2015. I got my Series 7 and 63 back in 2000, and watched the dot-com bubble peak and then burst in real time at a small, tech-focused retail brokerage in NYC.
