I am an electrical engineer finishing up my career and trying to prepare for retirement. I have concentrated on ETF investing and rotation strategies for the last several years. I have recently discovered and starting learning about Dividend Growth Investing. I expect my Seeking Alpha participation and a few articles to focus on DGI approaches, and retirement issues.
I began redeploying assets from mutual funds and cash into Dividend Growth stocks in Fall 2013. I have been retired since March 2011 when I rolled over my 401(k) to an IRA. I had been reading the SA DGI all stars for the previous year, and determined to pursue this stategy myself. So far, the dividends are little acorns, but I am able to reinvest these and hope for mighty oaks in the future.
Have had a very small construction related business since 1987. Planning to retire at the end of 2015 when I am 64. Started an SEP-IRA when I began my business and made deposits every year. Eventually started a couple of taxable brokerage accounts. In my IRA I mainly have mutual funds and in the brokerage accounts I have dividend stocks. Hoping to live off the dividends, social security and my wife's pension after I retire.
