  • Apple: The Way Now Open To $120 [View article]
Bret - good stuff. I trimmed 15% of my shares at $101 Friday (had them called) but am still feeling confident with AAPL as my largest holding.

Seriously, what was so bad about the Galaxy 4? My daughter has one and loves it. I was jealous of the screen to be honest. I've had the 4S and now own the 5S and think it's great but am curious on your objective Galaxy feedback.

  • Apple Set For Strong Sales Of iPhone 6 In Just A Few Weeks - But Is It Too Little, Too Late? [View article]
Smartone7 - I was just going to type that exact reply. Glad I read yours first.

Michael Blair I respect your writing and totally agree with you on CRM but you have passed the pathetic stage with this Moby Dick of yours (Apple). The stock has risen $350 per share since you first wrote "Call me Ishmael"

Yes eventually after many years this stock may tank a bit but come on, could you have picked a worse stock to short? Are you going to short GILD and CELG next?

Hope you don't mind the kidding. I am giggling as I type this. I read the title and know it's you immediately.

  • In Beats Restructuring, Apple's Tim Cook Sends Subliminal Message To Pandora [View article]
The Beats employees who had redundant jobs to people in AAPL HQ. It's an automatic "synergy" move that all mergers feel.

  • In Beats Restructuring, Apple's Tim Cook Sends Subliminal Message To Pandora [View article]
I'm betting Apple gave those people nice severance packages and if they can find other jobs soon it could be a financial windfall for them. But yes it's always a bummer when you get laid off after a merger when you did nothing wrong and may even have been an excellent employee.

  • Apple And Me: Why I Finally Bought Some Apple Shares [View article]
Now the key will be to hold it for another 30 years (that you missed out on) and pat yourself on the back for your 'better late than never move'. It's still not a bad buy at this price but we have seen Mr. Market severely punish AAPL at times so you have to have the stomach to ride the waves. Good luck. Long AAPL since 2010 and may never sell 100% of my shares.

  • Apple Still Offers 15% Upside Plus A Free Call Option On New Products [View article]
all of these bullish AAPL articles sound eerily similar to the ones I was reading in 2012 right before it dropped from $705 to $385 in a very painful sell off

if this next quarter isn't extraordinary with iPhone volumes and margins I'd expect a sell off down to $88 or so. Or worse.

and they are due to launch something besides the iPhone 6 if they want to climb to $105 as your 15% upside suggests

long AAPL but seriously thinking of ringing the register

  • Why Analysts Are Wrong About Apple [View article]
Andrew A with the Union burn! Love it!

I say and will continue to say that analysts are the tabloid writers of Wall Street. If you buy or sell stocks based on their writings you are truly ignorant of their motives and ineptitude.

  • I Was Wrong About Apple [View article]
Dang you faked me out with the title. I was about to say "You're a good man Charlie Brown" as I always respect someone who admits when they're wrong.

Now, AAPL may well end up at $50 someday but I'll have sold at $100 or higher by then. This is going to be a rather long and expensive short for you unless you have one of those sweet deals where you don't pay interest on your short positions.

    Good luck!

  • Apple: Reality Bites, So Time To Sell [View article]
ThomasViewPoint - "I have been looking for a good place to jump back in but I don't see the next big thing and without Jobs it appears they have lost their product genius."

Geez August 11th 2013 would've been a really good time to jump back in. Hope you did. I had to read every one of these AAPL-bashing articles last year while everyone else made good money on their no-profit, worthless cloud stocks.

But he who laughs last does indeed laugh loudest. My AAPL position has gained north of $60,000 since this article was written. Not including dividends.

  • Apple Buying Beats - Method Behind The Madness [View article]
I think he was referring to any technology investement for R&D or manufacturing done in China. AAPL could make investments with their overseas cash there and have Beats be not only the coolest, but the highest quality. The synergy is the Chinese manufacturing sourcing and the overseas cash. No repatriating cash required.

  • Apple Moves Through The $600 A Share Level. Is $650 Up Next? [View article]
if it stays rangebound through the split it'll price around $86 per share and for it to be $650 it'll only have to go up about $7 per share to $93

So yes I see it hitting $93 but I have learned the hard way to sell before the news with this stock. it is a traders' paradise and my buy and hold stubborness cost me some serious Alpha in 2013 when everyone else was making big money.

I've sold all kinds of calls at $85, $87, $89, $95 and will exit most shares as it climbs.

  • Has The Apple Fallen? [View article]
And it's garnering in a whole new type of investor: the dividend growth investor. And there are a TON of these people out there who will size up AAPL the same way they look at KMB, JNJ, INTC, MRK, MO and PM. They are looking for companies witha good business model, the ability to pay consistent dividends and most importantly, to GROW those dividend payments.

Having already received 2 very nice dividend increases since they started, this stock is something you could think about owning for the next 10 years easily as a retireed income investor.

My god we are really reaching here aren't we? AAPL doesn't have the cash flow to raise the dividend?
