Methano; is the firstmember of the alchol family. After methanol, ehanol then propanol, butanol and so on. Methanol is cheaper to produce than ethanol. Methanol can be converted into ethanol just by adding a CH2 group. Methanol is not as efficient as ethanol when used in the combustion engine. Methanol has a great future to replace gasolineif the engine is slightly modified.I am surprised that the market is not pushing Methanol. It may be because it does not add much to the econimy whereas CORN helps the farmers. It brings more votes for the Predential candidates. Jul 11 06:07 PM
