Karl Mitchell is a natural scientist, working at Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, primarily interpreting data of Saturn's moons from NASA's Cassini spacecraft. He has published over 30 peer reviewed scientific articles on subjects as diverse as volcanic eruption dynamics, planetary geology and stereo-photogrammetry of clouds. Karl's recent work has no discernible relevance to the economy or "the real world", but he insists that it's both important and very cool.
Originally raised in Potters Bar, England, he has lived in Pasadena CA since 2005, with his girlfriend and more recently a rather energetic 2-year-old dog. He describes himself as an intellectual green realist, whose vices include a chronic addiction to assam tea and occasional bursts of rampant capitalism.
