  • The Sun Is Poking Through The Clouds For Citi Investors [View article]
"Financially, the company pays a tiny dividend still with a very small payout ratio based on earnings despite the recent increase in the dividend."

What dividend increase? It's been at $0.01 per share per quarter since mid 2013? Was an increase recently announced?

  • Ford divulges fuel-economy numbers on 2015 F-150 [View news story]
I didn't misread. The 2WD F150 with the 2.7 liter V6 ecoboost engine has a max towing capacity of 8,500 pounds and makes 325 horsepower.

Take a look for yourself on Ford's spec sheet:

Aluminum body panels have nothing to do with crash test ratings. It's not the body panels that keeps you safe in a wreck.

What keep you safe in a wreck are things like the structural integrity (i.e. chassis), crumple zones, airbags, and seatbelts.

The 8,500 pound towing capacity from a 2.7 liter engine is what's most impressive to me.

My 2002 Chevy Avalanche could only tow around 7,500 and that had a 5.3 liter V8 and averaged a miserable 14-16 combined MPG.

  • Why Is Citigroup The Best Bank To Buy Today? [View article]
How is a 500% increase in price ($5 to $30) easier easier than a 150% price increase ($40 to $100)?

Price increases are based on fundamentals and the market, not on magic numbers.

This "reverse split destroying the stock" nonsense is blowing my mind. Is a dime worth less than 10 pennies?

Didn't even get past the executive summary. Try defining your abbreviations so your readers aren't looking at an alphabet soup of meaningless abbreviated terms. I have no idea what an RFS2 or RBOB is.

  • 3 Must-Sell Dow Stocks For 2014 [View article]
So because the lay man thinks of Google, Apple, and Amazon when they think of tech companies that makes IBM is a sell?

I guess I better sell my stock in LEG also because when I think of mattresses I think of Sealy, Serta, and Tempur-Pedic.

    Long IBM & PFE.

  • Microsoft Rises From The Ashes As A Stock To Own Now [View article]
I'm confused by your insertion of the 2011 Pyramid graph and this comment:

"'According to Pyramid Research, they foresee a steady decline in all other smartphone products EXCEPT for Android and Windows, with Windows eventually leapfrogging the Android system worldwide.'"

That was a 2011 comment explaining their 2011 graph/projection that turned out to be utterly and completely wrong about MSFT phones. Are you relying on the 2011 Pyramid graph and projection for this article? If not, why is it included in the article? Or why didn't you point out how wrong the projection was. The inclusion of the graph seems to be a non-sequitor that doesn't support your thesis.

That being said, I am long MSFT and think the rest of the article is well reasoned and well written.

It's fundamentals that cause stock market crashes. What is causing you to think the stock market is going to crash in 2014 (6 years from 2008).

Remember, the stock market is not a metronome.

  • Political Antics Won't Hurt The Markets - Republicans Better Beware [View article]
The house has tried more than 50 times to repeal Obamacare, failing each time through legislative measures, it was upheld by the Supreme Court, so since those challenges dont work they shut down the entire government? That seems logical.

The ironic thing is that since Obamacare is self funded it is operating right now while the VA, National Parks, and FDA are shut down.

  • 3 Indicators That Signaled The 2007 Top: They're Back [View article]
High market cap doesn't mean anything IF the stock is actually worth that. I don't think there's any evidence that stocks overall are way over-priced.

Gas is not at or above $4 per gallon as it was in 2008 and people are used to $3.00 + gas. It is no longer a shock to the economy.

Egregious home prices? Not really. Home values have gone up in some places but not to the levels of 2006. Home values are still very depressed in many locations.
