  • Shopping For A Retailer? Try Advance Auto Parts [View article]
Well written article; however you refer to Genuine Parts several times when AAP acquired General Parts which you do correctly identify in several other instances. The best part of the General Parts acquisition is the Worldpac division which makes AAP the largest distributor of parts for import vehicles in North America when added to their earlier acquisition of Auto Parts International. AAP has been smart enough to fund AAP and help them grow their niche and Worlpac gives them strength in another niche. The Carquest is at best a weak and declining player in redistribution and has flopped at operating their own stores by comparison to AZO, ORLY and AAP. Independent Carquest stores will go the way of Western Auto franchise stores that AAP acquired in the late nineties.

The IT manager at our company has his iPad on his desk. The ability of Apple products to operate on Windows makes it a great opportunity for Apple user to bring "toys" to work.
