  • Mr. Valuation's Best Valued Ideas For Retirement And Dividend Growth Portfolios: Cisco [View article]
Excellent article as usual. I like CSCO but at the moment QCOM (similar dividend characteristics) might be a better value.

  • Mr. Valuation's Best Ideas For Retirement And Dividend Growth Portfolios: Emerson Electric [View article]
As usual another excellent article. I've been selling EMR puts for the past few months for income and having them expire while half hoping for assignment. You're right; now is a good time to buy.

  • Energy Sector: A Look Ahead Before Weekend Revisions [View article]
    Brian,
You wrote in the past of being underweight energy; which now happens to look wise. Are you now looking to pull the trigger on any specific company in the sector?

Good commentary; though only time will tell if it's accurate.

  • The Comfort In Watching Coca-Cola Decline 25% [View article]
Listening to NPR today I happened to hear a story of about the substantial decrease in the consumption of carbonated drinks happening in the US and Europe. It was pointed out that this was happening by consumer choice. The other front is the growing use of legislation to reduce consumption. (Pepsi vs Coke implications noted)
    ...always appreciate your articles.

  • Sell-Off In Refiners Is Overdone [View article]
    Yikes Bret,

    You wrote,
" I think this is overreaction to a limited ruling. Although this administration has shown no issues with bypassing Congress or the Constitution - only to be reversed by the Supreme Court more than a dozen times and counting.."

If you actually read the story it concluded by saying,

".. .Goodlatte said, the "9-0 decision last week was the 13th time the Supreme Court has voted 9-0 that the president has exceeded his constitutional authority." A thorough review of the 13 cases found many instances where presidential authority was not at issue. Further, most of the cases originated under and were first litigated by the Bush administration.

    We rate Goodlatte’s statement False."

THE STORY ACTUALLY REFUTED THE HEADLINE!

I don't particularly care for this administration either but given your position it was irresponsible of you and lowered the quality of your work.

  • Bed Bath & Beyond Earnings Redux: Like The Retailer's Cash Flow, Still Waiting On Stock [View article]
A few months back you were waiting for a pull back into the 50's. I guess 60 is close enough but with earnings coming up I hedged my bet. The premium on the 58 strike (June27) was too rich to pass up and I'm comfortable with assignment if it happens.

I appreciate your candid mea culpa. I also agree with your assessment; dead money for some time but long term growth trend is probably still intact.

  • GE Earnings Preview: Less Undervalued, But Still Caught Between A Rock And A Rock [View article]

I too agree with your viewpoint but you might have noted some positives; the company seems to be positioning itself to be a player in a few major growth sectors.
"It isn't really a value stock or a growth stock". Seems a bit analogues to our current economic situation.
( ...looking forward to comments on WFM)

It's seems capricious how some growth plays are holding up (Costco) while others have been hammered. (Visa)
