Brian Gilmartin, is a portfolio manager at Trinity Asset Management, a firm he founded in May, 1995, catering to individual investors and institutions that werent getting the attention and service deserved, from larger firms. Brian started in the business as a fixed-income / credit analyst, with a Chicago broker-dealer, and then worked at Stein Roe & Farnham in Chicago, from 1992 - 1995, before striking out on his own and managing equity and balanced accounts for clients. Chris is responsible for overseeing investment advice given to clients of Belpointe Asset Management. His specialty niche focuses on using options to hedge risk and enhance returns, and more opaque fixed income alternatives.
Chris began his career in finances in fixed income institutional sales at UBS. While at UBS he transitioned to the Private Client Group in Stamford, Connecticut, where he was responsible for managing the finances of successful individuals, families, and institutions. He resigned from UBS in March 2009 to join Belpointe Asset Management.
Prior to joining UBS, Chris was a National Account Manager for Lexmark International. He was based out of Washington, DC, and was responsible for sales to Federal entities, including the Department of the Navy, the Executive Office of the President, the US Congress, NRO, DIA, and the NSA.
Chris started his professional career at Los Angeles Air Force Base. As an officer, he led the team responsible for researching and designing rocket technologies for the next generation of space launch vehicles.

Chris is a 1993 graduate of the US Air Force Academy, where he received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Chris is currently licensed as an investment advisor representative.
Rob Howard is the founder of Garnet Research, an independent research firm focused on utilities.
Rob has extensive background in the utility industry. He worked for Baltimore Gas and Electric for over seven years. While there he spent time in Distribution Engineering, Demand Side Management, and Rates and Regulation. This hands on experience has given him a deep understanding of industry issues.
After his industry experience, Rob spent 13 years on the buy-side specializing in utility investing.

As an SA Contributor I write about dividend investing general principles and strategies. I'll also write about concepts that apply across the investment spectrum but my focus is generally directed to dividend paying companies.
I tend to be conservative in investing approach. I invest and trade so as to increase my "discretionary" income. I live off my retirement pension and want to increase my account to provide additional income in future years. I'm 63 but haven't made a determination as to when I'll start using the additional income, preferring to remain flexible.
As a side note the profile picture is not me, it's my great grand-dad who was born in 1833, fought in the Civil War, fathered 11 children (the last one born when he was 67), worked hard as a farmer to take care of them, and died in 1910. I use it as inspiration to remind myself not to get lazy. I am fortunate to have been raised by great parents who set a great example for work ethic and taught me that we can accomplish much if we're willing to apply ourselves. That's why I invest my own money rather than depending on someone else.

He served as Chief Executive Officer of Cellnet Solutions, Ltd., a supplier of remotely managed networks of public wireless terminals providing voice as well as value-added data services in developing countries, from April 2008 until March 2010. From 2003 to May 2008, Mr. Hiram was a Managing Partner of Eurofund 2000 L.P., a venture capital fund focused on Israeli-related companies in the telecommunications, information technology and microelectronic spheres. Previously, from 2001-2002, Mr. Hiram co-headed TeleSoft Partners' investment activities in Israel. TeleSoft Partners is a Silicon Valley venture capital fund focusing on companies developing telecommunication-related technologies. Between1994-2000, Mr. Hiram served as Managing Director and Partner at Soros Fund Management LLC ("Soros"), an international hedge fund in New York, devoting the bulk of his time to private equity investments. Prior to joining Soros, Mr. Hiram worked at Lehman Brothers for thirteen years (also in New York), most recently serving as Managing Director of a workout and restructuring group. Mr. Hiram has served on the boards of directors of companies publicly listed in the U.S., including Ulticom, Inc. since January 2000 and Comverse Technology, Inc. from 1985-1986 and from 2001-2006 (including as chairman of the board from May 2006 to December 2006). When I was a kid I was fascinated with the stock market and had planned on becoming a stock broker or analyst. While still in college earning my Finance degree, the internet changed the way people bought, sold, and analyzed stocks. This realization, as well as an internship at a large brokerage, turned me off from my original career goals. Since then, finance and investing has become my hobby instead of my career. I've always enjoyed discussing investments and giving friends and family investing advice.
