News Corp. Earnings; Sets Plans for Dow Jones [View article]
I am amazed to see how many writers comment on companies earnings, and, do not post anything on their future revenue strategy. What are Ruperts visions? Why did he buy the WSJ if newspapers are dying to the internet? Where is News Corps.' future revenue going to come from? Advertising? Thru newspapers? What about mobile? How is Rupert going to incorporate his next big move with the WSJ deal out of the way? Look into how he is going to tie mobile, newspapers, and, television, and make it interactive anywhere you go. Check out 'qode' and News of the World.

IMO, Rupert bought this for another reason that people do not see. There is a test phase that News of the World and The Sun is working on. It involves a mobile platform named Qode. Qode lets the mobile consumer / web user click on 1D, 2D, QR, datamatrix, logos, keywords, trademarks, slogans, RFID, billboards, etc. to interact with the object click on. It is the internet of things. What about television? American Idol logo, Fox News, etc.
The object clicked can turn on a brand of the mobile users desire to find further information. Whether it is an object in a store for price comparison, or, in his news papers for advertising, or, on television during a breaking story
Is Rupert thinking outside of the box. Why does he want to purchase the WSJ? Instant advertising revenue from mobile interaction?
How is he going to interact with pictures? What has he done with Myspace?
Is he going to create his own library of objects to link to??????
I would not put it past him. He is a visionary also.
