I am a Professional Engineer, degree in Electrical Engineering but specialize in the field of Corrosion Engineering. Was born and raised in the Oil Fields in South Louisiana, first job was in the kitchen for Texaco, Inc. (was not 21). Went to college finished Pre-Med but joined the USAF and intered Avaition Cadet Training. After Service, worked For Texaco, Inc as a roughneck on the drilling barge Rhodes out of Houma LA. Went back to USL, now ULL, in September 1959 and got my degree in EE in 1962. Went to work for Cathodic Protection Service, Houston TX. Left CPS in 1966 and started Sand Blasting, Inc., sold interest in SBI in 1967 and started Corrosion Control, Inc. located in Lafayette, LA. in January 1968, I have worked in every field in South Louisiana and for every Oil Company doing Cathodic Protection design, installation and supervision of submerged oil, gas pipelines as well as offshore structures. I remember the Down Sizing the Exxon went thru in the 1980's and later, selling all of the onshore production, a lot of which was Gas. Keeping just a few rather big Gas fields (Pecan Island) etc. . I owen a little property located in DeSota Parish LA, my property is leased to CHK but XTO drilled a GAS well on our section in 2011. Was told then that EXXON was doing the work and doing it under the name of XTO. So in my books, they are just getting back into the Gas business but under a different name.
