Pickens Explains His Plan

CLNE reached 20 at one point prior to announcement of the Pickens Plan. Anyone who invests money does so to make a profit. Mrs. P has about twice as much stock remaining in CLNE as she sold. How could anyone hope to change the way we obtain our energy without schmoozing politicians and selling the idea to the public? Comparing CLNE's decline to my other energy stocks such as CHK, RIG, XOM, PBR - it has done as well and better than most in the past month. This all leads me to ask - what's your point?

Rising Crude Prices: Not Necessarily Good for Oil Stocks

Even so, I was surprised to see the extent to which oil stocks were down on Friday - I expected them to go up, as it has seemed to me they loosely follow the changes in oil price more than the general market. The only explanation I can come up with - perhaps the selloff was caused by increased expectation of a pop in the oil bubble and quick profit taking before that happens. My What If question - what if the price of oil continues to climb next week, or hold steady - are the oil stocks more likely to reverse Friday's reaction and start climbing again - or will they most likely continue downward? (I finally jumped into PBR on Friday - feel good for the long-term, but wonder what to expect if oil price doesn't correct).

I appreciate this article and enjoyed all the comments and opinions. I find all the personalities mentioned educational and entertaining. I hear more differing opinions on Kudlow's show than any other - and don't mind his enthusiasm one bit. It is just another opinon to consider while I form my own. Wish I knew which one of us really knows.

A Good Reason Not to Invest in Halliburton/KBR

Having worked for KBR for 32 years, as a woman in many "tough" places, including Iraq, I am astonished to read these accusations. The company is intolerant of even mild harrassment, and the penalty is termination. In all the years of working in the arctic, in the desert, on offshore platforms, in Iraq, and on other assignments, at times as the only woman on the project, not only did the company provide a protective environment and strict policy, but also I found the men at the project sites to be extremely protective and totally respectful. I can not know what happened to this young woman, and I hope the investigation and conclusions will be made public.
