Chinese Solar Companies Claim Polysilicon Shortage is Easing Up [View article]
There is another component that's not being introduced to the equation. The US housing market. A large majority of domestic solar assets go on top of US homeowners roofs. With the US housing industry slumping there will be an accordion effect for residential solar. The irony is that places like Sand Diego with tremendous solar opportunity are also some of the hardest hit and will not absorb the projected amount of MWs.
We should see the "housing effect" within six months if not sooner. This alone will open the Si market and will in fact warehouse complete modules and panels until we work our way out. If the current housing market leads the US into a recession then the over supply issue will only be magnified by a magnitude of order.
Apple For Enterprise: Yes, Change Does Happen [View article]
Apple needs to increase it's penetration into finance. There are next to zero platforms available for the Mac for traders and finance. This market segment is much larger than you might think. Traders and Wall St. would LOVE to access the slickness and graphical qualities of the Mac. Trust me on that.....
They would also be well served to create a very high profile division titled "Apple SuperComputing". This division would highlight Apples high end computing. Move the image from desktop publishing to desktop supercomputing.

You say all of this as if it was a good thing. To my knowledge not one of these sites makes any money and all they do is traffic in illegal copyrighted material and camera phone videos of people farting in public....
Let me know when there is something we should know about. Perhaps their demise would be worth reporting....

Perhaps I'm reading that chart wrong, but it looks bullish for the dollar to me. I see a double bottom forming with the first leg on Sept 25 with the other leg around now. I see the MACD in the oversold area (never trust the MACD BTW)
In the pennant I see compression leading to an upside bounce.
On fundamentals. The EU is a train wreck and I see fundamentally no reason to diversify currency reserves to the base currency of a consortium of constantly revising down countries. The French have serious issues and the Germans will have to absorb the increase of a very large jump in VAT come January.
MEMC's Looking to Ride the Solar Wave [View article]
Watch for sensitivity to subsidy here. The coming supply of Si and MW output from manufacturers will overcome the amount of subsidy available to install solar. This is not talked about much and it will effect the entire industry. The recent CA initiative is fragile and my not survive.
Will Increased Capacity Drown MEMC Electronic Materials? [View article]
You've already identified the WFR peak. Sell here. The solar (PV) industry is changing very quickly and everybody knows that material science will prevail. Witness companies like Nanosolar, Miasole and SolFocus that are on the vanguard of reduced silicon. Their price points are what is compelling as they move towards $1 P/W installed. No traditional PV manufacturer will ever be able to reach that even with the best of scale.
I disagree with your assumption that the statistical profile on XOM buyers being investors. While there is no doubt an investor basis in XOM, there is also a large number of hedgies looking for alpha in traded long positions in XOM -- absolutely no doubt.
