Great article. I like the forecast of potential oversupply and winners and losers.
I will add my own prediction. Solar energy will progress in price per installed watt so that it will be THE disruptive technology. Once solar escapes the subsidy trap, is easy to install, then we are going to see a massive change. Couple 100% daytime household production with a new super capacitor storage system (contact John Doer over at Kleiner Perkins) and increased efficiencies due to LEDs etc and the shift will be massive and swift.
I'm sure everybody has been paying attention to the massive VC investments in about 1,000 companies (not joking) that are trying like hell right now -- not twenty years from now, to make this happen.
