  • Twitter's Revenue Plans [View article]
Does anyone produce anything in the U.S. today?

While China sells more cars worldwide than the U.S in August even with the "Cash for Trash Program", which must be paid for with taxes, we spend our time "communicating" nonsense with equipment produced abroad.

How long does anyone believe this can continue?

  • Is Apple Going to Start Making TVs? [View article]
Where are they going to make them?

Why do I feel that the love of APPL reminds me of the love for MOT, Philco, RCA, Zenith of the sixties, GM, , GE, FNMA, MSFT and INTC of the eighties? I'm not knocking the company, just thinking back.

As in anything in life, it is the price one has to pay.

Food stamps must be allowed to purchase this necessity of life. The unemployed need an effective medium with which to chat with each other.

It would be great if Apple could build cars. But then again, where are the IPhones actually built?

If they take food stamps they will fly off of the shelves. It is what everyone on unemployment needs.

  • Can Mobile and E-Commerce Lead the Recovery in Online Advertising?  [View article]
I concentrate my business on mainly productivity as I have more distribution channels than I need. I have found very little value added from advertising of any sort as do most smaller business, the engines of growth.

Many businesses have advertised themselves into bankruptcy because they raised customer expectations and not the quality of their good or service. Word of mouth can be a savior or killer to any business or industry. Just ask any American car company.

  • Cautious on Apple's Plan to Extend Digital Payment Processing Business [View article]
People shop? With what? The cash they got for trash? While looking for the consumer we should be producing the necessities of life not leisure.

What happens to a property when everyone who wants it owns it? If you cannot answer that question you should not invest or speculate.

Do you sell a bar when it is packed or empty?

Remember MSFT at 60 and GM at 70, the greatest companies in the field an like the "Nifty Fifty" must owned by institutions.?

While our industrial productivity has gone to hell we have been making cell phones (Nokia too the cream) for people who spend 80% chatting about nonsense on.

It is not hard for me to decide what to do. I just look to see where everyone is going, stop and think, and, possibly go the other way or no way but certainly not their way.

  • Friday Roundup: Better than Expected [View article]
As proof that stock prices are as much a measure of perception than fact, we have not had a major productive innovation in the 21st century.

As our collectivist trend manifests itself we will see most of the innovation take place off shore as the U.S. and EU are, basically, anti-industrial.

Not, unfortunately, being an industrialist, scientist and/or engineer, if I were I would entertaining the ideal of building a "John Galt" Atlantis. Why should the productive continue to b support the politically correct non producers?

Paper pushers, financial analyst,s economists, politicians, academics, etc. don't produce what feeds the babies or makes the hammers and nails. As the governments in the U.S. and EU are already bought and paid for by the "looters" it makes sense to just start a new country as it is less expense than re-buying the old ones.

  • How Much Are Apple's 45 Million Users Worth? [View article]
Talk about an over-hyped stock! Of course this isn't the first time for Apple where some one with a computer program extrapolates the present into the future. Remember housing prices be touted daily in local press and on Wall Street.

This is the fabric from which "Black Swans" are woven. They can only come from over-confidence which is why prices go down faster than up.

  • Bye Bye Apple [View article]
Just what the world needs: more ways for employees to waste time. People, some educated, actually believe that consumers are more important than producers. Talk about a losing paradigm.

  • Does Verizon Really Need the iPhone? [View article]
    Does anyone "need" and iPhone?

If these companies don't come up with something besides how employees can waste time communicating with each other or surfing the web they will become mature organizations and stagnate.

The last thing the world needs is a new phone or computer. Most of us don't use the ones we have to their full capacity, like a Porsche in Manhattan attractive but not functional.
