  • Grab A 15% Yield From This Undervalued Dow Dividend Stock [View article]
@combie> I fully intend to continue investing in BA and advise my investors to do the same. Your BS about "Charleston is a mess" and supply chains are completely unfounded and reflective of a disgruntled Unionized Grunt. BA is expanding in Charleston which you are completely unaware, obviously !

    Long on BA.

@Daniel>Considering all the negative comments to your 'Shenanigan Article', why has there not been a single Editor's rebuttal ? ? Not even a "Thanks" for the few agreements. Just wondering........

  • Pioneer Southwest Energy (PSE -2%) is cut to Sell from Neutral by UBS, which says the company's relatively weak hedge profile, tight coverage ratio, limited distribution growth history, and sub-8% yield leave it cautious at current levels. Among E&P MLPs, the firm prefers Linn Energy (LINE) and Legacy Reserves (LGCY). [View news story]
My preference would be LINN, by far, in this potential MA.

  • More on ConocoPhillips (COP): Q4 EPS beat by a penny as an overall increase in production Y/Y managed to offset margin pressures to its bottom line. Net earnings cratered 58%, as commodity prices fell and the company was hit by lower average realized prices for oil and natural gas, falling 2.7% and 1.5%, respectively. Production from continuing operations edged up 1.8%, primarily due to new production from major projects and drilling programs, as well as higher production in Libya and China. Shares -0.9% AH. [View news story]
I agree ! Long on COP.

  • Understanding Seadrill And Future Dividends [View article]
I'd rather pay the taxes for year 2012 (extra quarter) dividends at the known tax rate than speculate on the tax rate for 2013, thanks to the pending Obamy Fiscal Cliff.

  • Union Troubles Could Hurt Verizon [View article]
TO ALL YOU PRO-UNION PEOPLE: Have you compared your 'increased' pay, 'increased' benefits, better working conditions, etc. to the "Union Dues" you have paid over the years ? Your dues only went to the Union Organizers and Union Rep's. higher pay grades and all the perks undisclosed. Meanwhile, holding the Corporations/Companies as hostages. Case-in Point: Union Organizers 'earn' (?) more (via your dues) than most Company CEO's and Exec's through earned salaries (via intelligent management). I've been on both sides of the issue. Just wish I could get all my 10 years of 'Dues' back and I would gladly return whatever they did for me.....................!

  • Westport Catalysts Remain Too Far Away For Investors [View article]
This is not new technology, just expanding into a larger market, with larger engines, due to the increasing oil demand for gasoline and diesel fuels; and an even greater desire to be oil independent from imports. UPS, FEDEX, Garbage Trucks, City Transit Buses, etc. are well into the engine transformation within their local routes and private re-fueling stations. School Buses will be a tremendous market, also.

This is work in-progress now, while CLNE continues to build-out the CNG re-fueling stations along the major Interstates for trucking.

I will soon (3-6 months) be buying into WPRT & CLNE and currently own CMI stock. Future looks too bright to pass up.

  • Buy Duke Energy For A 4.7% Dividend Yield And Retirement Of Coal-fired Power Plants [View article]
<romilar> As you indicated, my opinions are just that.......opinions. As far as the DUK dividends, they were reduced several years ago due to excessive debt. (Please check this out.) DUK has many major additional expenses in the near future that MAY necessitate a dividend reduction, thus lowering the share price from a selloff. A good entry would be $59 to $63 on a pullback. Again, my opinion..................

  • Competition is intensifying for Qualcomm's (QCOM -2%) Snapdragon baseband/app processors, says Avian, which downgraded shares to Neutral. Nvidia (NVDA) has been picking up design wins, Mediatek has deals with Chinese OEMs, and Broadcom (BRCM) has a growing mid-range presence. This leads Avian to worry Qualcomm will see a mix shift towards cheaper standalone baseband chips, such as the one used in the iPhone 5. In Qualcomm's defense, there have been several high-profile Snapdragon design wins (I, II, III, IV) in recent months. [View news story]
    Well said !
