  • Looking At Biogen Through Warren Buffett's Eyes [View article]
Well, Biotechs have this surprise element in addition to the naked numbers. If the Alzheimer drug ever gets approved the stock will be much higher than your projection. They have a good pipeline. Management obviously knows how to execute. I bought some after the recent drop in share price - I sold my position before at 380. Complete position in synthetic longs.

  • Preparing For The Market's Collapse [View article]
I think it is funny that the author believes in a worst case cash is good. In a worst case you can burn your cash. There were times when they carried cash in wheel barrows in Germany when they all of a sudden got hyper-inflation. If everything collapses the value of money becomes 0.

  • The Truth About Falling Oil: Demand Destruction [View article]
One example is hilarious: 26% of German power supply comes from renewables. That is correct. But how much comes from oil? The answer is: nearly 0 for many many years because there is coal and gas and imported nuclear energy. Not a drop of oil is saved by Germany using alternative energy because the number of electro cars is small. Also, Germany is noticing the high costs of the new energy policy. Most oil in Germany is consumed by transportation. German oil consumption has remained nearly constant the last 5 years. It has fallen because of more efficient use prior to this.

Yes, same thing they said with AAPL. This is a transition period from rapid growth to value and will take some time. But GILD is a buy.

  • Why The Dry Shipping Market May Be More Hopeless Than We All Thought [View article]
To reduce the complete dry ship market to iron ore shipping is pretty interesting. It is about 30%:

Second, more transport is more transport of iron ore. The math is correct of the author, but the conclusion is wrong.

Third, a serious discussion of dry bulk capacity must include discussion of the new build/scrapping balance. This is obviously key together with commodity demand.
