  • India patent office slaps Gilead in the face [View news story]
Right. Not to mention rounds of studies and the legal work involved. We know drugs cost a lot because of the development, much like software.
Once you've got the formula, it's cheap to produce.

  • A Physician Compares Gilead's And AbbVie's Hepatitis C Products [View article]
Great article. Thank you. I saw a chart of possible release dates of competing drugs for Hep-C. Gilead will be well established before the competition gets a foothold. Especially, with their one-a-day version (for 8 weeks instead of 12).
I'm long GILD and when it plunged, I bought the NOV 50 calls. Will buy more in June when the market tanks.

  • White Wave Foods' Stock Should Rise As It Expands Its Brands In 2014 [View article]
Sorry but I received my copy of Motley Fool on March 1st. The recommended price was 26.90 ( check it). WWAV closed on Friday feb. 28th at 28.30 after 4 down days. How do you explain the difference between MF's price at recommendation and the price on March 1st? I've seen this time after time with MF. I'll be buying around $27 or lower.

  • White Wave Foods' Stock Should Rise As It Expands Its Brands In 2014 [View article]
The latest issue of Motley Fool recommends WWAV. At $26.9 a share. This recent pop has been in reaction to that. Their recommendations always seem to jump before the print edition hits households. Wait for the declining indicators to bottom out along with a general market pullback.

  • Starbucks: Early Preparation For The Digital Era Is Finally Paying Off [View article]
Evolution Fresh is now being sold in Starbucks stores and a few supermarkets in the Southeast Pa area. However, the price is way above competitors like Naked and Bolthouse (almost double). I'm looking for Starbucks to make a deal with a food conscious restaurant chain like Chipotle or Panera. I believe that they are already sold in Whole Foods. One last thought, the stock has more downside. Except for a few "relief rally" days, the trend is down. But, it's nearing bottom.

  • Netflix: Asking Key Questions For 2014 [View article]
Another great article. Thanks Bill. Answering some comments - why wait for a correction? Buy puts on Netflix and SSO. I've made money everyday this week on Netflix puts and calls. And SSO puts and calls.
I like the Dec 290 calls and Dec 390 puts on Netflix.
Also, the Dec 84 calls and Dec 101 puts on SSO.

  • Sell Netflix: It Can't Compete With YouTube [View article]
You're forgetting that all gaming units and most TV's and DVD/BD players come with the Netflix app. Most people don't stream it from their PC or tablet. You're comparing apples and oranges.

  • Amazon catches upgrade as Street cheers Q3 growth pickup [View news story]
No mention of losses for 3 qtrs. No p/e. If institutions starting this off, it would do what NFLX did a year or so ago. Back to 70.

Right again, Bill. If the market wasn't in the toilet right now, Apple would be $520. In a holding pattern.

  • Fiesta Restaurant Group Offers Significant Long-Term Potential [View article]
Agreed. I have visited a Pollo in Florida twice. Both times busy.
I think they have a great future in large urban centers like
NYC, DC, Philly, Baltimore, LA, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas, New Orleans and Boston. Really any major city with a lot of people focused on cheap good food. I think they could easily increase their float and attract more institutional investors that are leery of small floats because of liquidity. They could use the money to step up their advertising and build out some newer cities. Creep north and west.

  • Could Google Face An Apple-Like Fall? [View article]
You called it Bill. We saw money leave AAPL and head into GOOG.
Where's the GOOG money going? AMZN? NFLX? PCLN? AAPL?
We'll see. I expect a rebound in GOOG though. It's too well loved.
They still have another "grace" quarter ahead. Then, expect a multi-month decline. Seems the $1000 pt is a jinx. PCLN should beat it though.

  • Rick's Cabaret Is A Cheap 'Sin' Stock Worth More Than Double [View article]
Years ago, I bought RICK at $10 and it went to around $24. I sold near the top. But, bought back at $19 just before the 2008-09 crash and recession. I sold again at a loss. Also, had it's competitor and partner company, I believe it was UCHG, from $5 to $15. They went private later at $2.25.
The business may be "recession-proof" but the stock is not. RICK crashed down with the market and hasn't recovered yet. I peek at it once in a while but, why wait? Other stocks are moving now.
BTW, do the women still pay Rick's to work there? I thought, there's a great employee-employer relationship for a company.
