I am just a small armchair investor looking to build wealth over time using dividend growth investing strategy as my guide. About two years ago, I heard about DGI and started to read and learn. Slowly I have converted some of my retirement portfolio from mutual funds, a la Dave Ramsey, to high quality stocks - best of breeds - using David Fish's CCC material. My first purchases were SO, KO, and T. I learned about the the power of compounding by forgetting about a mutual fund that I had owned for about 10 years. With re-investing all distributions during this time, the fund has grown very well to my surprise - even with several down years in 2008-10. Having this knowledge leads me to believe that this same power can be unleashed, maybe even to a higher degree, with high quality stocks - the best of breeds - of companies that are consistently raising their dividends.
