Thank you for your analysis. Very good article. Any chance any one of these MLP's will begin paying monthly payouts like LNCO/LINE? BTW, most of us understand that dividends/distributions mean virtually the same thing to the readers. Some will have a hissifit that you used the word "dividend" as opposed to "distribution". I've gone to the use of the word "payout" to calm down some of the nervous one. Again, thanks for the article.

Thank you for a great article! We've been long TYG and TPZ since 2012 and 2009 respectively. We're enjoying a 34.37% return and a 22.89% respectively. Current dividends are 6.29% and 6.87% on an annual basis. Perhaps we could have made more on individual MLP's(we sold LINN at 37 to buy TPZ and made good $ on LINN) but there's safety in numbers. i.e.. After LNCO/LINN came out with monthly payouts recently, we were tempted to go to LNCO at 42.00. What a kick in the head that would have been. All it takes is one genius to write an article and your portfolio takes a dump (Barron's on LINN). Almost happened with BP. We came close to buying BP due to its dividend and reputation right before the spill. We would have lost nearly half our savings on that one. We'll stick with the CEF's like the Tortoise Group.

With that said, I believe the jury is still out on VNR which I've following for many months. The monthly payout (let's use that term so as not to upset anyone) is great and I wish more MLP's would follow suit with the monthly pay. We'll wait for the next earnings report coming right up from VNR and see what's happening. Thanks again for your well written article.

As I stated in a previous GALT pump and dump SA article:

"As to GALT, this article represents the total fallacy of looking at debt and cash as a criteria for suggesting a small or medium sized investment in a given stock. This stock (formally PRW) was pumped and dumped in Arizona years ago (2006). It appears it still is being pumped. A word to the wise. Look at the message board for GALT on yahoo finance. See the nonsense spewed about "dancing on youtube, etc". Stay way away. I have invested "play money" in this krap but I attended a meeting in Scottsdale AZ late last year and come to find out that some at that meeting have lost well over 100k thanks to the aforementioned pumping and dumping. Watch if you will but STAY WAY AWAY. "

But, Wagenfire, by all means I suggest you don't go for it; Don't bet the farm on this krappola.

        BG6638-2

Look into TPZ (pays monthly). Look at its history and what assets are in this CEF. Do your own DD, but I think you'll have found what you say you're looking for. Another alternative is TYG, but it pays quarterly. However, it does appreciate faster over time than TPZ. Good luck.
