Great concept. Got my attention not for Whole Foods, but that you looked at DWA Technical leaders. I have looked at the holdings of them, plus PFM (Div Achievers), plus PWC (Dynamic Mkt) and not exactly like SPY, looked through SPHQ ... the same plus "High Quality".

Discovered that drugs are a different place so tacked on an ungraceful fifth wheel and looked at the XPH though. Drugs are weird when part of finance!

Correct me if this is wrong, but - if there is a Contango on a thing though futures AND a parallel offering without contango, then somebody somewhere is going to be in an uncomfortable situation and this will slow down trades? Or what? Or are futures enough of an imaginary friend to fiddle with it and undercut their predictive "power" ?? (You can see I'm confused)

He shouldn't tell you that! :-) Any information feeds back in to a loop, even obscure anecdotal things stack up. Anyway, good article Mr.Plaxe, UNFI recently made one of my obscure screens, and I had held HAIN long ago (sold for cash, but probably shouldn't have.)

Humans have odd feeding habits, so I would tend to factor in a lot of lying about what people "say they will eat more of"...they mean well, but then aggressive marketing of cheap things grabs them by the wallet...

People fail to pick up on Cramer's way of adding "with a grain of salt", to his pronouncements! (The too quick disclaimer the lawyers text-display during the show.) Also, many of his callers explain the context of a trade/investment, and he responds with a markedly contextual response (off the cuff). If you "hate" what he's doing, I'd advise you to think of him as giving estimates to individuals.

More important is his experienced and apolitical in the trenches viewpoint. Look, the insider stuff you hate, he is shining a light on it while rolling his eyes! Sectors. What the fools who "technically" send signals to each other through wavy lines WILL DO. etc.

Good points all around. But. Besides other apples to oranges, I see no mention from Ted (or anyone) that year vs year on AT&T is also incomparable. (Pears to Plums?)

T has, perhaps wisely, farmed off its boring Yellow Pages division. Unless I'm mistaken, this changes the "Non Wireless" % considerably and can no longer be projected in the same way for comparison vs S. Maybe the drag is gone and OTOH maybe some cash-cow property is missing.

A.K. is looking more seriously at non-US telecoms for both value and growth. Sort of pairs alertness. Pairs for pears :-)

Well, I don't know XIN from ...Jiangxi Zhongjiang Real Estate, for example. Looking at them side by side shows them beating each other differently over different time-frames. Not-my-thing-Pass.
But I also don't know much about Pharmaceuticals. China Cord Blood may or may not be related. Pass also! Drugs are hard.

What I have looked at, however, is RDA and Spreadtrum. Somehow both are less scary than RF-Micro devices (RFMD) all over the place stock. Sometimes a bargain, sometimes not.

Others might like Skyworks Solutions (SWKS) too.
Kudos for finding these as apparent bargains!
The last of your picks even gives about a 2% yield to make up for not having the money in a Savings Account!!

On the contrary, "Technical" TA ("Analysis" hah) is pretty much guesswork based on wavy-line pattern. The names of TA and FA seem to really be reversed in meaning. Fundamentalism vs Technocratism. The fact that the market is extremely imperfect and people introduce chaos can't be measured, but this is what produces TA guesswork. Loading up and unloading based on what happened in the past - it's Ben Graham's "Mister Market!"

Fundamental Analysis is actually more technical going by scientific terminology. This can confuse a great many people and will continue to do so. Sadly, so many people try chart-guesswork and THEMSELVES are the chaos "intruding" upon the system.

So, yes, SLV and other metals don't follow the apparent production/needs/stock... model one would expect. Plus people have in the past tried to hoard it (speculation!).
(Long SLV - more as a hedge. Not a clue "where it will go next" and that's just fine!)

The Molten-salt idea is more of a heat-sink ploy, I believe. This would take advantage of the retaining energy in heat (to let solar-collected power out at night). I'd still fear that economies of scale might make a plant for it hellish and toxic & vaporous with weird new accidents...
