Why is Apple So Disconnected From Its Fundamentals? [View article]
Freedom Fighter, the same concept that applies to longs, applies to shorts. The bear raid is over, the company has the same fundamentals as it had at 200, all indicators are bullish and unless they turn I wouldn't be short. When did the author get short? There is not enough detail in the article. Again you can apply the same concepts to shorts that you do to longs with the same article. Shorts scream Apple is done, longs scream Jobs is god, you gotta find for yourself when is a good time to buy and when is a good time to sell.
The bottom line is that the story with Apple hasn't changed, and until it does you can buy when its cheap, and sell when its expensive. Define those parameters for yourself. The same drivel has been around since 2003, the original iPod.
The question is - and I do not know the answer - did Apple provide enough to trigger corporate IT department to allow people to use iPhones on their networks? - So Apple just announced support for ActiveSynch, when it wasn't available everyone was screaming we need it, we need it, now that its out there, YOUR question is did they provide enough !!! What exactly is your question, point that wasn't answered by your own comment???
Another question: will IT departments be willing to support a heterogeneous smartphone environment, with support for both Blackberries and iPhones. Note in particular that this is not like simply choosing a Mac over a Dell PC; there are different infrastructure requirements here. Apple says their way is simpler; but that does not necessarily means corporate users are going to want two parallel methods of shipping email to their employees’ phones.
- You are a reporter, why don't you spend some time and interview a few IT departments and find out some of these answers, instead of posting ridiculous questions. IT departments already support heterogenous environments in many ways, why does this make it any different? If you have ActiveSynch infrastructure in place, why would placing an iPhone on it make it different.
So tired of this non-sense, when Apple doesn't do something, its wrong, when they do what people were asking for, they are wrong again.
Think Housing's Bad? You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet [View article]
I am sorry, but a 15% decline in Los Angeles? Whomever came up with this number needs to get out more. LA market is one of the most unaffordable, even a 15% drop would keep it unaffordable based on the average income in this city. Last 2 years have been financed mostly by no-down, no-doc, stated income, option ARM loans. LA will be down 30-50% conservatively, if not than people here will be living not just on negative savings but they will be borrowing using their friends credit.
Housing Prosperity Just Around Corner? I Don't Think So [View article]
I have to disagree completely with your assesment. If you know anything about the stock market you will know that the dot.com crash happened to the complete disconnect between prices and fundementals of the companies. The RE market is in the exactly the same state at the moment in most markets. - Salaries do not support housing prices - Ridiculous loans have been handed out to "owners" - Inventories are soaring - Buyers are not committing - Lending guidelines are tightening - Rates are going higher - etc, etc, etc
Do not even kid yourself that this market is the same as before. A large problem people have is understanding the problem when its staring them in the face. Stop drinking the kool-aid and do your homework.
