  • Linn Energy: Is There Any Value In The Equity? [View article]
    @DSandman999:

    Just that many of your posts are so good that I was trying to read in between commercials and the real plays on the field.

    Long LNCO, but not as long as a week ago. Sold about 80% of my LNCO and
    bought some other Canadian energy names in order to diversify some more.

    I'm also long PWE and wish you would buy a few shares, so you can be on the right side of the struggle.

    You need to post each paragraph as a separate post.
    Very hard to read such a long post while watching the Super Bowl at the same time.
    Could have made 4 different posts from the above comment.

    >>>However, including the ability for readers to not only follow but also vote negative (maybe ignore) an author would be an improvement.<<<

    I like your idea. Kind of like youtube lets you vote up or down if you like or dislike the video.

    Also would be nice to see how many SA members read the article.
    I guess only authors get to see the page views count???

    How can LINE ENERGY SUE THIS POSTER PLEASE???
    When there is no such thing as a LINE Energy.
    You can't fight and defeat ISIS, if you keep calling it ISIL.

    Linn Energy has an MLP called LINE by ticker and a c-corp with ticker LNCO.

    Seems like a common mistake made by many that own LINE/LNCO.

  • Moving Back To The Short Side On Oil Stocks [View article]
    Looks to me that the shorts in COS stepped right in to a land mine this past Friday and got blown to smithereens.

  • Recent Asset Sale Metrics Point To 300% Upside For Lightstream Resources [View article]
    @bankstocks:

    Part of the problem with the 3 names you mention is the lack of a dividend.
    And probably the major trap that kept so many investors in for so long in these Canadian dividend payers. Hopefully the majority will survive to the end of 2015.
    One name I really like right now, and would like to add on weakness is Whitecap <WCP> (SPGYF). They pay a decent dividend and will grow after this oil price drop is over.

    @bankstocks:

    After second thought, I realized that you probably had not had your cup of coffee this morning before you wrote the first post.
    I ALWAYS ENJOY READING YOUR COMMENTS.
    And your expertise is always appreciated.
    I'm still long BXE, and like LTS and LRE and SGY, we just need more shorts covering their shorts like we saw today to lift the share prices on many of these Canadian names. ;-)

  • Recent Asset Sale Metrics Point To 300% Upside For Lightstream Resources [View article]
    @bankstocks:

    Petrobras is a Brazilian oil company.
    What PetroBank had in Colombia was called Petrominerales.

    And it seems like everybody and their grandmother keeps making the same mistake.
    1) there is a province in Canada called British Columbia.
    2) there is a country in South America called Colombia.

    Why everybody wants to use an U instead of an O for Colombia is beyond me.
    But we agree with bankstocks about the disaster with Lightstream, formerly known as Petrobakken.

    A real horror story that we will remember for a long time.
    But to find somebody that will come along and make an offer before BK is our only hope now.
    Being down 84.61% is no fun. So we are about $0.50 cents away from finding a REAL bottom in LSTMF.

  • The Time Will Come For Rock Energy To Rock [View article]
    @VD:

    Thanks for the update on Rock Energy RENFF, which I bought back in on 1/26/2015 at the $2.01 level. Today in the US it closed down to the $1.87 level.

  • Crescent Point Energy: A Sustainable 9.5% Dividend Yield For 2015 [View article]
    @TimmiesRegular:

    I'm glad to see that you were able to side step most of the oil drop, while I kept trading around it and trying to upgrade the portfolio.
    But one thing that CPG has taught all of us and many other Canadian e&p, is that it is better to issue shares when your stock is high than to borrow and go in to debt like LTS and others did to grow.
    Also CPG did a fairly decent job of hedging production while others like PWE/T got caught with no hedges in place.
    I just wished that BTE was in as good a shape as CPG.
    Hopefully most will be able to survive this downtrend if oil recovers by year end.
    Otherwise if this last too long many Canadian energy producers will be in a world of hurt.
