You are correct, I didn't read too deep, I retract my statement.

  • An "error" resulted in the early release of the latest minutes from the FOMC's recent policy meeting. The minutes suggest some members may be getting more concerned about the effects of ultra easy monetary policy on financial stability. Additionally, there was some discussion of how a smooth exit would be orchestrated and what effect tightening might have on the Fed's net income.  [View news story]
Wait until next presidential election for the message at WH to be heard loud and clear... It's not going to be heard now.

  • State Of The Junior Gold Mining Sector - April 2013 [View article]
If too many pundits are making noise about it, it's still too early. It's when the pundits have started to give into the lows, no one wants to take a chance, the bottom has been reached.

  • Gold Has Held Its Value Over The Last 2,500 Years: Fact Or Fiction? [View article]
The title of the article states 2500 years. The charts seem to go no further than 1960s. Discrepancy?

    Robinson,
ERF does not get $4.00 gas price but Western Canadian equivalent, which is lower. The points of delivery determine price booked, hence differences from US producers.

    Michael Blair,

I'm also cautiously long on ERF. However, since good entry points for lots of Canadian energy stocks have occurred in summers (and relative low prices of nat gas), that may be a better entry point for this stock.

Oh boy.. Why do people continuing to use WTI as a measure of any of Canadian oil/gas stocks? The spread of WCS and its lighter brothers to WTI/Brent is significant and primarily dictates the price of these stocks.

  • Pengrowth Energy And Penn West Petroleum: Not In-Sync With Oil & Gas Prices [View article]
Instead of correlating prices of PGH and PWE to WTI and Brent, why not correlate them to Canadian prices they receive? Specifically, why not look at Canadian specific oil prices such as WCS and some of their lighter cousins? There may be correlations there that clearly do not exist with WTI/Brent prices.

I am not a Republican or Democrat. What kind of leadership is proposing something that you hope never passes in order to punish the other party?

I wish Obama would just concentrate on things that both sides of the aisle can agree on. How about supporting natural gas revolution in US, or about incentivizing gas stations to open NG or LNG filling stations? If he thinks 'water fracking' is so bad, how about supporting liquid propane fracking done by companies like GSFVF?

    Dave,

You have the right strategy for current administration. Make sure to obtain a different citizenship for your wife, in a country that's not hellbent on taking your money away. If your wife gives up her US citizenship, she's allowed to move up to 2 or 3 million dollars without having to pay a penalty. Of course, your 'divorce' could state that she gets that amount - and you just need to make sure she is appropriately gifted in IRS eyes every year thereafter.

You mean in order to have the top of the bullmarket? I think we can have a bullmarket without fundamental change in mentality - why change anything if it has worked for the last 3 to 4 years?

  • The Cyprus Bailout Was The Best Thing To Happen To Europe Since Last August [View article]
    Levin70,

All it takes is one. Let one leave and untouchability of eurozone is gone. Equality of euro is gone already - euro in Cyprus bank is not equal to euro in Germany. That has not happened in US - a dollar in Texas bank is equal to a dollar in Portland bank.

I will be watching euros fleeing southern Europe and holdings of dollars in Europe go up.
