  • Retirement Strategy: The Oil Crash Could Be A Dividend Growth Investor's Best Friend Of The Decade [View article]

  • Are Stocks Overvalued? A Survey Of Equity Valuation Models [View article]
The market (as of today; referencing the DJI) is 3,700 points above where it was in 2006. Averaged out, this "gain" equates to 411 points per year since it hit 14,100 back in 2006.......hardly what I would call a rocket to the moon!

  • The Lesson Of Ambarella [View article]
There's also buyout chatter driving the stock price. AMBA is a good candidate for a number of large tech companies that have the capitol to make it happen. Even if a buyout doesn't happen, AMBA has the fundamentals for a bright future.

  • Seadrill: Still Unimpressed [View article]
One thing that I'm absolutely positive about......$SDRL is closer to the bottom than it is the top! Seems to be a classic case of "be greedy when others are fearful."

  • Activist urges Qualcomm to consider breakup [View news story]
Per Jana's Mission Statement from their website:

"A value-oriented, event-driven manager that invests, long and short, in companies undergoing or expected to undergo change."

Sure sounds like they profit on company disruption.
A breakup is not in the best interest of the shareholders.

That's absolutely true. We are not too concerned with "best" price when buying/selling but rather the average return over an extended period. I can't wait for the Vanguard offering in this space!

  • McDonald's to go back to the burgers [View news story]
Like it or not, a lot of MCD's success is due to the fact that a large percentage of its' sales come from a certain demographic. They need to up the quality of their food but the challenge comes from doing that without drastically increasing their prices.
